Pupil Safety

At Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School, we involve all our pupils in creating a safe environment. Staff are good at watching out for children who might be at risk and know that they must report their concerns. Classrooms have worry boxes for children to express any worries they have and there is a virtual worry-box on this website.

Sometimes, we may need to share information and work with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will share our worries with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that by doing so, we would be putting a child at risk. We are fortunate to have Worth Unlimited mentor Carol Parker-Cowan, who comes into our school once a week to work with children.

We actively support the Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead is Mrs Chesney and Mrs Acton is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
