Safeguarding

At Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School, we have created a culture where safeguarding is given the highest priority and pupils are involved in creating a safe environment. Staff are vigilant and trained to identify when a child might be at risk and report their concerns.

Sometimes, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will share our concerns with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that by doing so, we would be putting a child at risk.

We actively support the Government’s Prevent agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead is Mrs Chesney.

Mrs Acton is our Deputy Designated Safeguarding and Prevent Lead.

At Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School we have a Worth Unlimited Mentor once a week to safeguard the children’s mental health. The children really enjoy this quality time that they have with her. At the heart of Worth Unlimited is a yearning for a world that’s as it should be – a world in which all people thrive, the environment flourishes, diversity is celebrated and deprivation doesn’t exist.

If you think your child or family need support. Please contact one of our designated safeguarding leads.
