Meals
Our school meals are cooked on site in-line with Government food-based standards for school lunches. We try to encourage children to make healthy food choices at lunchtime and ensure children make nutritional requirements.
Children have the daily choice of a hot meal, a vegetarian option, sandwiches or a jacket potato with fillings. Parents of younger children may wish to help their child choose a meal when they arrive in the morning. A menu is displayed outside the kitchen, Breakfast Club and by the pupil’s entrance to school. A copy is also attached below.
All our meals are served on a 3 week cycle. Please take some time to have alook at our new delicious Autumn 2020 menu below.
The cost of a meal is £2.30 per day / £11.50 per week after half term. This may be paid either weekly, monthly or termly in advance via Parent Pay online.
A few of our children choose to bring in a healthy packed lunch from home. If this is the case, we ask that packed lunches do not include sweets or fizzy drinks but are nutritionally sound.
According to NHS choices a balanced lunchbox should contain:
- Starchy foods like bread, rice, potatoes or pasta
- Protein foods like meat, fish, eggs or beans
- A dairy item, like cheese or yogurt
- Vegetables or salad and a portion of fruit
