Year 3 - 4 York Chocolate Factory Visit (Fri)
23rd March 2018 - Macaulay Primary AcademyOn Friday 23rd March, our second outing to York Chocolate Factory for Year 3 & 4 went ahead. During our visit, we were learning all about the history of chocolate making, we had the chance to make our own chocolate lollies and we even got to sample some of the delicious chocolate from the master chocolatiers!

Safeguarding Alert
23rd March 2018 - Serlby Park AcademyNottinghamshire Schools regularly share safeguarding information with each other. We have received an alert today which is nearby and, given that children may be out and about over Easter, we feel we need to make you aware of the information we have received.
There have been a number of reports of a known sex offender in the Retford area. The reports are of a middle aged white male, between the ages of 45-50 of medium build close to Retford school grounds.

World Book Day
23rd March 2018 - Grange Lane Infant AcademyWe didn't let snow stop us from celebrating the many different characters you can encounter in a book, during the day we met Little Red Riding Hood, George with his Marvellous Medicine, Little Lambs, Dragons, Princesses, Action Heroes, Elmer, The Hungry Caterpillar, Fantastic Mr Fox and even Mickey Mouse! Just to name a few!

Easter Day and Hat / Egg Competition
23rd March 2018 - Grange Lane Infant AcademyOn Friday, along with celebrating World Book Day, we also had our Easter Day where we enjoyed Easter crafts, baking and egg hunts!
The Easter competition was again supported by the PTFA with the prizes donated by them. They along with school council and guest judge Miss Robinson from Pheasant Bank Academy had the hard task of picking 4 winners from each year group, nursery and Little Grangers. We also had 2 overall winners for the most amazing hat and egg.

23rd March 2018 - Grange Lane Infant AcademyLittle Grangers were eggstrabusy on Friday enjoying World Book Day, Easter competitions, baking Easter Cakes, having an toasted hot cross bun breakfast but also investigating who on earth had left the trial of footprints in their nursery!

23rd March 2018 - Grange Lane Infant AcademyWow what a fabulous cram packed day!! Due to the weather our World Book day had to be cancelled but we made up for it on Friday. Not only did our children dress up as their favourite charatcers but a massive number of children took part in our Easter Egg decorating and Easter Bonnet competitions. A massive thank you to all our children and your adults, you did amazing. Here's some photo's taken in our Nursery.

YHA Spy Academy
22nd March 2018 - Whetley AcademyYear 4 and 5 went on a residential to YHA Spy Academy, Castleton in the Peak District in early March. 51 children learnt to make a fire, and bake bread over it. Children also learned navigational skills, archery and we had a local walk through the countryside. It was a great experience and everyone enjoyed it. All children are now fully fledged agents!

Decorate an Egg Competition
22nd March 2018 - Serlby Park AcademyWell done to everyone who has entered this year's 'Decorate an Egg Competition'.
This was our busiest year yet with 103 fabulous eggs being delivered to the library by primary pupils.
As usual the standard was very high and our judges, the Primary School Council, had a really difficult time when making their decision.

21st March 2018 - Macaulay Primary AcademyOn Wednesday 21st March, Key Stage 2 enjoyed a range of activities on the playground and field for their Sports Afternoon. Activities included footgolf, trigolf, cricket, athletics, basketball, tennis, dodgeball and archery.
