  • Tigers Trust Opportunity for Year 11 Students

    11th January 2018 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    The Tigers Trust have recently been in the school talking to the year 11’s about their NCS project that takes place in the summer holidays. NCS is a 20 day personal development programme, that is recognised by both universities and employers, as well as having lots more amazing benefits.  The programme is funded by the government, with them investing £1,500 in each child’s place. The cost of the programme is a maximum of £35 and this includes a 4 night residential in the Lake District in week 1. For more in

  • Whetley's Healthy Breakfast Club

    11th January 2018 - Whetley Academy

    The children and families at Whetley Academy are invited to a free breakfast club every morning (Monday-Friday) between 7.45am - 8.30am.  There is always cereals, toast & fruit available.

         KS3 Badminton Team have qualified to represent Ingleby Manor School at the Cleveland Championships later this month.

  • Booktrust School Library Pack comes to Serlby

    10th January 2018 - Serlby Park Academy


    A brand new set of fantastic books have just arrived in our library courtesy of the children's reading charity Booktrust.  

    The School Library Pack has been carefully selected to provide a set of high quality books suitable for a range of reading interests and ages. The pack includes fifteen titles, split across three categories - Future Classics, Reluctant Readers and new for this year Non-Fiction.

    The Year 5 pupils thoroughly enjoyed a visit from the local police team, to learn about online safety and cyber bullying and the laws of being online.

    If you're in Y8 or Y9 and want to enter a writing competiton for our region - please see Ms Robson. You need to write a 400 word article on a sector/company/job in anticipation of Careers Week. The best entries form the area will be published in the February edition of TopicUK magazine!

  • Pie Night

    8th January 2018 - De Lacy Academy

    Thursday night is Pie Night! Please come and join us if you're a Y11 parent and have a steak/chicken pie on us! We're having a quick evening to go through what's in store for Y11s this term and we're also giving out free revision guides for many subject areas. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, get resources and have a free meal.

  • Pie and Pea Night

    If you are the parent/carer of a Y11 student please join us on Tuesday 23rd January for our Pie and Pea Evening.  The evening is an opportunity for you to find out more about the support that is available for all Y11's in the lead up to their summer exams.

  • Lunch Taster Session

    Our new chef, Joe, teamed up with Miss Sayer and the Pupil Voice Team to encourage more pupils to have a healthy school meal, by hosting a tasting session.  The pupils loved it and more and more pupils now want school meals cooked by Joe and his team.

    We have a new addition to the Rowena family! Meet Harry the 12 week old rabbit who we have adopted as our new school pet.

  • School Opening Reminder

    6th January 2018 - Hull Trinity House Academy
    A polite reminder to our parents and carers. 
    As scheduled, the Academy will be closed to students on Monday 8th January for staff training. The new term will begin for students on Tuesday 9th January, with the school day starting with preparation for Parade at the normal time of 08:40. 
    The Academy refectory will be open to students from 07:00 (food and drink being available from 08:00). The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) will also be open from 08:00. 
  • Leeds Help The Homeless

    5th January 2018 - The Elland Academy

    A big thank you goes out to all the staff and students involved in making the 'Help The Homeless' event a success, particularly Miss Aspin and Miss Kidd who lead this school community event.

    For many weeks students and staff donated belongings such as clothes, toilteries and pet food. Students remained in school until late at night to cook a range of food to donate. Later that night staff and students handed out these gifts to the homeless as part of the Leeds City Council event held every month. The remain

  • Academy re-opens Monday 8 January 2018

    5th January 2018 - Garforth Academy

    Thank you for your support over the last few days.  Fortunately the engineers have successfully identified and repaired the breaches in the heating system and final work will be completed over the weekend.  As a result of this, school will be open as normal to students from 8.10am Monday 8th January and it will be a normal day.

    The academy will open fully to all pupils on Monday 8th January. Breakfast club opens at 8am as usual. 8.30 FS1 and everybody else 8.45.

    The academy now offers breakfast in the morning for all students from 8AM.

    Students who are entitled to free school meals will receive this at no charge.

  • Snow and bad weather

    3rd January 2018 - Whetley Academy

    In the event of bad weather it is always the priority of the academy to remain open and as such the site team will work to ensure that the site is both accessible and safe.

    There are however rare instances where the academy might not be able to open as normal as a result of severe weather. In such instances any changes to the usual opening arrangements will be communicated by a text system to let parents know if the academy is closed due to bad weather.
