Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Young Professionals Conference

    14th July 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Thursday 14 July a group of identified Year 10 and Post 16 students visited the Derby Round House and attended a conference on careers and apprenticeships. 

    Students took part in four workshops to understand what businesses are looking for when recruiting young people for apprenticeships.  They also had the opportunity to talk independently with the businesses and colleges that were in attendance. This allowed time for students to develop their networking and confidence skills.

    14th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    If you came down to school today, you would have found lots and lots of Teddy Bears! All of them were having a yummy picnic with the children!

  • Y6 Leavers Performance

    What talent we have in year 6.  Fabulous acting and singing made for a really amazing end of year celebration performance.  We are very proud of you all.

  • It's a knockout 2016

    14th July 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On the 14th July Manor Croft Academy were treated to the 'It's A Knockout' inflatable experience and what a fantastic event it was!  All year groups took part in a team event which saw students competing against each other in the end of year reward event.  The Knockout team event treated the students to a 'dance-off' competition at the end of each event which MCA students loved and cheered on the participants!  Well done to all involved!!

  • Garden Centre in F1 and F2

    13th July 2016 - The Parks Academy

    Last Friday F2 opened their own garden centre as they finish their topic ‘Let it Grow’. Having started their topic with a visit to Colletta and Tyson, this was a perfect way to complete an outstanding term of learning experiences. Thank you so much for attending. We raised just under £200. As ever, thank you for your outstanding support.



  • Option Choices

    13th July 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    Current Year 8 and Year 9 students have recently completed the Options process.  Due to the recent changes in Curriculum this process has been slightly delayed. Parents will receive confirmation letters of their child’s allocated options early next week. We would like to apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.   • Sports Day

    13th July 2016 - Worlaby Academy

     

    Following the Olympic theme our house teams represented a well known athletic nation: Red - Kenya, Blue - USA, Yellow - Jamaica and Green - Brazil. The children represented their country in running, obstacle, beanbag and relay races with points awarded for finishing places. The winning team this year were Jamaica, could this be a sign for Usain Bolt's Olympics!

    Individual boy and girl winners were awarded for each year group, and many parents and carers joined in a fantastic afternoon of competition.

  • Asthma Friendly school

    13th July 2016 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    We are pleased to announce that we have just been accredited with Asthma Friendly School Status. After a brief presentation by Maria and Debbie all pupils with Asthma were presented with their own personalised box for the classroom to keep their care plans and inhalers in.

  • White Scar Caves and Ingleton Trip

    13th July 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On the 13th July 50 Manor Croft students attended a trip to North Yorkshire to experience the wonders of the White Scar Caves and the Waterfall Trail at Ingleton.  The trip was a great success with all students enjoying the experience and even managing to walk the four and a half miles in under two and a half hours...which is good going for a school group we are told.  Well done to all who came!

  • Circus Skills

    13th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    We are really busy in school and enjoying the final week of the year. Today we have been learning how to be a circus entertainer, by mastering stilt walking, juggling, balancing and trickery. It was really good fun and was enjoyed by the whole school.

  • Summer Fayre

    12th July 2016 - Crookesbroom Primary Academy

    Thank you to Friends of Crookesbroom for organising the Summer Fayre. Their hard work definitely paid off as we raised £504.64. Thank you to everyone who attended- it was a great success!

  • 6C Enterprise

    12th July 2016 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    Following several weeks of work, entrepreneurs from 6C opened their 'shops' today to sell the products they had made. All businesses made a healthy profit with the winning team being Mr Icy-Cone's Ice Cream Parlour - well done Kacey Robinson, Elle Cree, Daniel Walker, Shane Ratcliffe & Ellie Middleton.

  • Gifted and Talented

    12th July 2016 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    On Friday, 10 gifted and talented Year 6 children took part in a day of rehearsals and workshops before performing the dance they've been working on this half-term at Cast Theatre, Doncaster. They were absolutely fantastic!

  • Art Project

    12th July 2016 - Willow Green Academy

    This term, a small group of children from Years 3 and 4  have taken part in an Art Project, working well together to produce a superb piece of art  inspired by Ferrybridge Power Station.  The artwork which was part of a larger project is now on display in the foyer at  CAST in Doncaster. 

     

  • Step up day – Race for Life

    12th July 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Tuesday 12 July Queen Elizabeth's Academy held a special day called “Step Up Day” the focus of this was around enterprise.  Each tutor group became their own business for the day.  Students developed skills around  organising  and running their own business. They created their ideas in the previous weeks during tutor time.  Each tutor group represents a House, therefore all the funds raised from the sales on the day will go towards the House Charities of the year.

  • Diana Award Roll of Honour

    12th July 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    We are delighted to announce that Melior Community Academy has been added to Lady Diana Roll of honour for our sustained work around anti-bullying.

    These students all come from different backgrounds in life, but they all work together as a group and on their own to make the school a safe and happy environment for others. They always put others first before themselves. Students have attended drop in at break and lunch, given up time in summer holidays to help out at summer school and attended year 7 camp help

  • Parental Forum

    12th July 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    Some parents have raised an interest in establishing a parental support forum at the academy.

    This will be made up of a group of interested parents of students from across the Year Groups at Melior Community Academy, together with teachers and parent governors, who meet on a regular basis to discuss issues relating to your child's time at the school.

    The parental meeting scheduled for a small number of specific parents on Wednesday 13th of July at 4PM has been postponed.

    We do appreciate that this will be frustrating for you, and that good communication between the Academy and the home is essential in ensuring that students achieve more.
