    15th March 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    Are you a former student of Ash Hill Academy, Hatfield Visual Arts College or Hatfield High School or know someone that is? If so we would love to hear from you! On Wednesday 5th April we have a planned event for our Year 10 students, and are seeking former students who would like to get involved.

    Our growing alumni network are helping to create a more diverse and vibrant community around the academy, and are providing more interesting ways to benefit our current students.

    14th March 2017 - Melior Community Academy

    One of our Year 8 Maths classes chose an ingenious way of celebrating Pi Day today by using their bodies to create Pi to 4 decimal places.

  • Year 9 Rugby Tournament

    14th March 2017 - Garforth Academy

    The Year 9 Rugby team played in a five school tournament at St.John Fisher School, Harrogate yesterday. The lads were a credit to the Academy, playing four games against some very good opposition. They worked hard and pulled together well as a team, winning one, drawing one and narrowly losing two. To say it was physical would be an understatement!!

    Well done to everyone involved.



  • Science Week

    13th March 2017 - De Lacy Academy

    This week is British Science week. We are asking our year 7 and 8 students to take part in a homework competition to create a poster about change.

    Winners will be announced next week.

  • Year 6 maths challenge

    13th March 2017 - John Whitgift Academy
    On 10th March JWA hosted the Y6 maths challenge. Led by Miss Rowe, local Primaries were invited to participate in this annual challenge, working in teams to complete different rounds of maths problem-solving and puzzle activities. The event was a great success and there were a huge amount of budding mathematicians in the room who certainly got into the competative spirit.
    Well done to winning team Wybers Wood Academy.

  • James Muir Visit

    10th March 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    We were delighted to welcome James Muir, CEO of VW UK, to the academy today to speak to students.  They were thoroughly engaged as he spoke about the Fourth Industial Revolution.  They were mesmerized as he spoke about self diagnosing watches, autonomous cars and biotechnology.  Students left knowing far more about the jobs that may exist in the future and the skills they will need for those jobs.

  • Happy (early) Retirement Mrs Jackson!

    10th March 2017 - Craven Primary Academy

    After 17 years of working at Craven, Mrs Jackson has decided it is time to retire which will allow her to spend lots of lovely time with her baby grand-daughter, Skye. Throughout her time here, Mrs Jackson has made such a difference to the school and is one of the main reasons the children get to attend such a variety of well-organised trips and visits. She will be missed by all the staff as a colleague and, more importantly, a friend and the picture on the left just shows how much the children will miss he

  • Imagined communities project

    9th March 2017 - The Elland Academy

    The Elland Academy are working with Chol Theatre Company on an imagined communities project. This project involves our students working with visiting professional artists to create an imaginary world. The picture shows what our students have developed so far. We have completed two weeks so far and the engagement of the students is great. They have all created their own character and a place in the world. Our characters include:

    • The God Forest
    • God of Mountains
    • The Lock Keeper
    • Ripambe

    We are up and rolling in ICT at The Elland Academy!
    A further 3 students have achieved overalls grades of Distinction*, Distinction and Merit in their ECDL exams!
    Year 10 students have hit the ground rolling with 7 out of 7 students passing their first Presentation exam with fantastic grades! 😁
  • Trust champions

    9th March 2017 - The Vale Academy

    Top-performing athletes returned to The Vale as champions after winning its sponsor’s prestigious indoor tournament at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

    They won the under 13 and under 15 Delta Academies Trust's competition after both girls’ teams came top in their age categories and the boys finished third in both.

    PE teacher Nicola Hewitt, who took the 21-strong team to south Yorkshire, said the competition was ‘fantastic’ from start to end.

  • Kirklees Youth Council trip to Westminster

    9th March 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Wednesday 8th March members of the Manor Croft Student Leader Council travelled to London as part of the Kirklees Youth Council to take a guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. The trip was organised by Michelle Ross, Kirklees Youth Council Chair, and was a great success involving numerous high schools from north and south Kirklees.
