    14th February 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    After a successful Autumn/Winter program of activities for the daily Enrichment sessions, we would like to thank both students and staff for their involvement. This program of activities will close on Friday 17th February at 3.30pm.

    Please note: There will be no bus operating after sessions close on Friday.

    High standards in careers provision at The Vale Academy have been recognised with a prestigious award.

    The Quality Award in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) accredits good practice and encourages development in academies and schools.

    14th February 2017 - The Grove Academy

    5 years on from  the start of our successful partnership with The Bilton Conservation Group , The Grove Academy  continues to train the  conservationists of the future.

    Year 11 Land-based Studies students ,Josh and Tom, have been busy at the Willow Wood crossroads building a motorcycle barrier, following a  spate of intrusions onto Bilton Fields, in Nidd Gorge, by off- road motorbikes.

    13th February 2017 - Willows Academy

    Badminton club is proving very popular and it has been pleasure to take the children each week. All of the children who participate have made great progress with their skills. We have recently been having mini-tournaments which the children really enjoy. They have all demonstrated great sportsmanship and enjoy the challenge, whilst at the same time supporting each other and celebrating their successes.   • STUDENTS VISIT OXBRIDGE

    13th February 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    On Saturday 11th February, 8 students from Ash Hill Academy visited Cambridge University. When students arrived they received a presentation that focused on the university application process and an overview of the different courses available at Oxbridge. Students had the opportunity to explore the university and Cambridge city centre.   • OXBRIDGE PARENTS EVENING

    13th February 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    The Universities of Oxford and Cambridge are delighted to be hosting a parents information evening for parents and guardians who want to learn more about how to support students thinking of applying to these or other top universities. The event will be delivered by Schools Liaison Officers from Homerton and Mansfield Colleges. All events are free of charge.

  • Year 11 Geography Revision Skills Workshop

    13th February 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Saturday 11th February Kate Stewart, Delta Academies Trust Director of Humanities, arranged for a small number of Year 11 Geography students to take part in a revision skills workshop at De Warenne Academy in Conisborough, Doncaster.  The workshop was aimed at improving outcomes in the forthcoming examinations and our students worked alongside young people and staff from other Delta Academies.

    10th February 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    The academy will be holding an All Years Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 14th February 2017, starting at 3.00pm. This will offer both students and their families a chance to check on progress made so far this term, as well as discuss next steps for the coming term. Year 11 students in particular will benefit from attending this evening, as they can discuss revision strategies and exam practice with their subject teachers.

  • Teams' memorable day in Derby

    10th February 2017 - The Vale Academy

    Top-performing five-a-side football teams from The Vale Academy represented North Lincolnshire and took on schools from across the East Midlands in regional finals in Derby.

     The boys’ and girls’ teams travelled to the Soccer Dome at Pride Park, home to Championship Derby County, in the English Schools’ Football Association competition after being crowned district champions.

     They competed against schools from Nottingham, Hull, Lincoln and Derby.

    A big thank you to everyone who supported non uniform day - we raised £237 to help buy a cow for a village in Kenya.

    9th February 2017 - The Elland Academy
    Year 11 have been sitting their functional skills English level 1 exams this week, excellent attitude towards these exams. The students have been having formal exchanges as part of the speaking and listening components and their confidence levels have grown in recent weeks. We cant wait to get the results back. 
  • First Aid Certificates

    9th February 2017 - The Elland Academy

    Six YR9 and three YR8s have all past their School First Aid Certificate. This is a Basic first aid qualification which last for one year. Some of the skills they had to learn was, the recovery position, CPR, how to manage an incident, bleeding and how to deal with choking.

    Hopefully next year these students can go on to achieve their Emergency First Aid certificate.

    On Wednesday 8th February a small group of students from Year 11 and Year 10 visited Hull York Medical School.

    The day was entitled "Thinking of a career in medicine?".

    The boys received a warm welcome from Professor Una McLeod who is the Dean of School. This was followed by a short lecture from Dr Paul Docherty which had some helpful suggestions of things to prepare for if you want to study medicine.
