    Thank you to all the parents, grandparents and carers who joined us for our first stay and make of the year!

  • S75 Bus Service

    18th October 2017 - Garforth Academy

    The Academy has received a communication from the transport provider ‘Square Peg’ who operate the S75 service. With effect from Monday 30/10/17 the S75 service will be known as the number 9. All students will be required (and always have been) to carry a yellow boarding card as well as a half-fare pass if appropriate. METRO have provided a link from which to access the application for the requisite pass.

    Rehearsals are now well under way for our 'Night at the Musicals' on Tuesday 19th October. The show which is narrated by the three fictional directors 'Henry, Margo and Sandra' has numbers from Wicked, Legally Blonde, Les Miserables plus many more.

  • Tickhill Lions Poster Competition

    18th October 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Each year Tickhill and District Lions hold a free fireworks event, which this year will be held at Tickhill Cricket Club from 5pm on Saturday 4th November. 

    This year they have invited our pupils to design a firework and bonfire safety poster to educate children about the dangers associated with Bonfire Night. They have also kindly offered £50 towards prizes for the winning entries. 

    All completed posters should be handed into the library no later than Wednesday 25th October.

  • Rhymecraft

    18th October 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Rhymecraft is the brand new Serlby Park poetry competition for 7 - 11 year olds with an open theme that will appeal to all ages and abilities. 

    This latest library competition takes imagination to the next level by engaging our pupils with poetry and showing them how to build their poems in Minecraft style.

    It's fun, easy to take part and our pupils could see themselves as published poets. 

    There are great prizes for schools and pupils and a free bookmark and sticker for everyone who enters.

  • Harvest Festival

    17th October 2017 - Willow Green Academy

    A big thank you to all the parents and children who brought in items for our Harvest Festival. We had a fabulous assembly, led by Mrs O'Gara and Father Edward. Mrs Measham from the Knottingley food bank also attended to collect all the donations. The children sang beautifully and everyone enjoyed it very much. 

     

  • Y7 PIE NIGHT

    17th October 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    We will be holding a Pie Night for parents, carers and students of Year 7 on Tuesday 24th October 2017. This will be another opportunity for us all to discuss the progress made so far by Year 7 students, how they can be further supported moving forward, as well as allow any questions to be asked. On the night there will be two sittings – 4.00pm to 5.00pm, and 5.00pm to 6.00pm. We very much look forward to seeing parents, carers and students of Year 7 on the evening.

  • Year 3 - 4 Muslim Talk

    17th October 2017 - Macaulay Primary Academy

    Year 3 and 4 have been learning all about religious festivals and celebrations as part if the RE work. Shereen Alankar from Grimsby's Muslim community came in to talk about the Muslim festival of Eid ul Fitr. The children were really well behaved and loved hearing about how her and her family celebrate this important time of year for Muslims.

    Are you a former student of Ash Hill Academy, Hatfield Visual Arts College or Hatfield High School? Then why not join other former students as a member of our Alumni Network.

    Our alumni network is quickly growing now, as former students from the current academy and past schools look to reconnect, both with the academy and old friends. Being part of the Alumni Network allows members to keep in touch with each other, keep up to date with activities at the academy, and even become guest speakers at our events,

  • Crochet Club

    17th October 2017 - Serlby Park Academy
    Serlby Park crochet club restarted this half term with a fabulous turn out for the sessions.
    Crochet club will run every Wednesday after school with a new extended time of 2.30-4.00pm.
     
    All pupils are invited to join us! We are working towards some wonderful Christmas projects and are also creating lovely poppies to sell for Remembrance!
     
     
     
  • NEW Year 11 English Intervention

    17th October 2017 - Garforth Academy

    As of the first week after half-term (beginning the 1st of November), there will be weekly English intervention sessions for Year 11. They will be on a Wednesday in room 27, will finish by 3.30pm and run by either Miss Horsnail or Mrs Purdy.
    All Year 11 students are welcome if they feel they need some extra support for the English Language exam.
    This half-term we’ll be focusing on Component 2 of the exam as that is what one of their mocks will be in December.

  • Macmillan Coffee Superstars!

    17th October 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    On the 29th September 2017, Serlby Park Academy Secondary had their third Macmillan Coffee morning and it was our biggest and best ever! Students rose to the occasion (without the addition of baking powder) with all their bakes and pennies to donate to the worthy Cancer support charity. The hall was packed at break time and lunchtime with staff and pupils willing to make the ultimate sacrifice –to spend some money and enjoy some great bakes!

  • Visitors to our Magic Breakfast Club

    Our breakfast club would not be FREE if it wasn't for Magic Breakfast, they supply our bagels, juice and cereals ensuring every child at Grange Lane have the opportunity for a healthy breakfast within our breakfast club or even a breakfast top up when bagels visit the classrooms during registration.

    Most recently Magic Breakfast have gained support from Amazon UK. So Stuart and Richard from our local Amazon joined us for a Magic Breakfast, found out a little more about our school and even had a game of chess
