  • Harry Potter Trip

    29th June 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Thursday 29th June ninety-nine Manor Croft Academy students visited the Warner Brother's Harry Potter Studios in Watford, North London.  The trip was a great success with all students thoroughly enjoying the 'behind-the- scenes' tours of Hogwarts, Diagon Alley and the Forbidden Forest.....amongst other amazing sights, costumes and attractions!

  • Y8/9 BRADFORD UNIVERSITY TRIP

    28th June 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    On Tuesday 27th June 2017, approximately 60 students from Years 8 and 9 were taken to the University of Bradford, by Mr Reynolds, Mrs Claybourn, Mr Johnston and Mr Parsons. The students took part in a #PoweringTransformation workshop, a fully funded, one-day programme developed by The Transformation Trust and supported by Dell. This exciting programme provides the opportunity for a school to send 60 students in Years 7-9, to take part in a workshop using the latest Dell technology in a creative and interest

  • Canoe Polo Champion

    28th June 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy
    Well done to Ben Jones for his fantastic result at Canoe Polo.  
    He played for GB Development Under 18’s B Team this weekend at Liverpool International. They won all of their matches taking home the Division 3 Trophy. Ben scored 6 goals during the tournament as well as one in the final which was against the GB Development Under 18’s A Team.

    On Wednesday 28th June Year 6 were looking at health during their science lesson, as a part of this they dissected pig hearts and lungs. They really enjoyed the activities and their discoveries, take a look at the pictures below.

  • Year 2 Stay and Make

    28th June 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy The Year 2 children had a great time with their adults at the stay and make session. Don't forget to watch out for your child's work in the Holmes Carr Centre during 2018 for the centenary of the end of the First World War!

    This is an update following the Doncaster Schools Athletics Championships on Monday (19th) and Tuesday (20th) last week.

    The Year 7 and 8 students competed on a very hot Monday! Our best performers, who came in the top 6 in the finals, were:

    Mason Clark (Yr 7) - Discus 2nd place with a throw of 16.9m

    Georgia Cherowbrier (Yr 7) - Javelin 4th place with a throw of 14.5m

    William Wood (Yr 7) - 5th place with a throw of 19.25m

    Chelsea Bisby (Yr 8) - 4th place 100m in 14.35s

    Jack Evans (Yr 8) - 5th place 100m in 13.3s

  • Year 6 Spy Missions Trip

    27th June 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Year 6 went to ‘Spy Missions’ Nottingham to become agents and save the World! The students used specialised computer software to complete quizzes about the history of British Spies. They also succeeded in their Mission to safely reprogram a nuclear missile’s course. The children represented the Academy wonderfully and had a fantastic time saving the World!

     



  • Views of a Volunteer

    Throughout the last year we have been lucky to have a volunteer working with us from Huddersfield University. Here is her overview of her placement at The Elland Academy

    I could not have wished for my time at The Elland Academy to be any better; both staff and students made me feel very welcome, I truly began to feel part of the School.

    During my time there I learned so much about how the Academy runs and what it takes to be a great teacher. I was fortunate enough to be parts of several departments and enjoy

  • ASSEMBLIES POSTPONED

    26th June 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    This week all year group assemblies are postponed due to the Auditorium being used for Year 6 Transition activities. Could all students please report to their Form Class at the appropriate time.

  • Snowboarding and Ski Trip

    26th June 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    The academy will be running a Ski, Snowboarding and Winter sports trip during the Easter holidays 2018 for students currently in Y7-9.  The trip is to Santa Catarina in Italy from 30th March to 7th April. 

    Interested students should see Miss Pearcey in the PE department for more information.

  • UCAS Fair

    26th June 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Y12 students have attended the annual UCAS fair in Sheffield where they had the opportunity to find out more about the options available to them after sixth form.  A trip to McDonalds afterwards was a great bonus! All students showed great maturity and were a credit to the academy.
