  • Sports Day 2017!

    13th July 2017 - St Wilfrid's Academy

    On Wednesday, St Wilfrid’s held its 2nd Annual Sports Day. Teams had been organised to compete against each other under the Mythological banners of Poseidon, Zeus and Triton! Over 70 students enjoyed a fun and action packed alternative sports day, supported by all the St Wilfrid’s Staff and cheered on by a great turn out of Parents. Traditional competitive sports, mixed with bouncy assault courses, sumo suits and a BBQ and Ice cream van went down a treat!

    We are delighted to celebrate the success of Rosie in Year 1 who has just completed the Serlby Park Academy Platinum Reading Challenge Award by reading an extra twenty books.
     
    This is in addition to the eighteen books Rosie read to claim our coveted Gold Award.
    Congratulations and well done to Rosie.

    We are delighted to celebrate the success of Dennis in Year 3 who has just completed the Serlby Park Academy Platinum Reading Challenge Award by reading an extra twenty books.

  • London Trip

    12th July 2017 - Crookesbroom Primary Academy

    Year 6 had a fantastic trip to London. They went to the houses of parliment, walked down Downing Street and visited Buckingham Palace. Luckily, as the children were walking through London, they saw Theresa May who came over and spoke to the them. It was an experience the children will never forget! All the children that went on the trip were absolutely thrilled with the things they got to experience.

  • Sports Personality of the Year 2017

    12th July 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    The first annual MCA Sport Personality of the Year Awards were a huge success.  Over 230 students, staff, parents and carers attended the evening event to celebrate the hard work, commitment and sporting success over the 2016 -17 sporting season.  The evening went off without a hitch and even had fantastic musical performances from many of the students.  The winners on the night were… Y7 Zak Y and Cody-Lou M, Y8 Lucy-Mae C and Taylor B, Y9 Ellie W and Stan K, Y10 Emily W and Jack B.  The overall winners wer

  • Health Day 2017

    12th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    Secondary students enjoyed the Health Day on Wednesday 12th July with help from external agencies.

    Students had the opportunity to discuss smoking, sexual health, healthy eating, crime prevention and immunisations. Some students also took part in first aid and CPR training with thanks to Harworth Fire and Rescue Service.

    We would like to thank all the Agencies involved, the students had an amazing day.

     

     



  • Last School Council Meeting of the Year

    12th July 2017 - Wybers Wood Academy

    We celebrated a fabulous year of school council today.  Our councillors have worked so hard and been the voice of the school in making some brilliant decisions. 

    The only sad thing is Mrs Hopkin will be leaving us at the end of term.  We will miss her very much and can't thank her enough for running School Council for many years.  Enjoy your retirement Mrs Hopkin!

    The Craft Club meets every Wednesday afternoon during P6 Enrichment (2:30pm to 3:30pm) in the Bronte Study Room - interested students need to see Mrs Parsons before attending due to capacity.

  • Bushcraft 2017

    11th July 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Sunday 9th July to Tuesday 11th July 52 intrepid explorers and three members of staff from Manor Croft took part in the third annual Bushcraft Experience.  They spent three days surviving in the woods at Cholmondely Castle in Cheshire learning bush and camp craft skills.  Students were taught by experienced Bushcraft professionals how to make shelters, light safe fires, make animal traps and provide first aid in a mock disaster situation.  The trip was a resounding success again and even the weather stay

  • Year 7 Art Exhibition at Leeds Museum

    11th July 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    The Extend, Enhance, Exceed Exhibition at Leeds City Museum is now installed. Y7 pupils worked in English and Art lessons to create poems and artwork inspired by WWI.

    The work is in a great position in the large windows either side of the main entrance, thousands of visitors will see it over the summer! The work will be on display until early Autumn, so there's plenty of time to call in and see it. There's also lots of newspapers, containing images of the work, going to be available for the public to take aw

    10th July 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    This morning our Year 8 and Year 9 students experienced a performance by the Leeds-based Pop/Rock band My Forever as part of the compulsory PSCHE curriculum. Band members Dave (lead vocals, guitar) and James (guitar) graciously delivered songs from their catalogue of amazing music, as well as affording students the opportunity to get photos, signed flyers and chat with them after the performance.
