    We are delighted and proud to announce that all the pupils in Miss Cooley's class have now reached Bronze Level or above in this year's Reading Challenge. 

    To celebrate this fantastic achievement, the class enjoyed an extra visit to our library on Friday afternoon and home-made chocolate cupcakes too.

  • Year 11 Students - Thursday 14th June

    13th June 2018 - Ash Hill Academy

    All Year 11 students will be allowed to leave the academy at 1:30pm on Thursday 14th June, in order to help them to prepare for their Physics exam on Friday 15th June.

    Students should return as normal on Friday before 8:20am, in order to arrive in time for their exam in the morning.

    Year 11 once again demonstrated their relentless determination to achieve their maximum potential in their exams at the breakfast meeting this morning. Year 11 students have met with the Principal and core staff every Tuesday morning for a full year to share important messages, revise, speak to their teachers and of course, enjoy an array of tasty breakfast foods.     OFSTED inspection of the Academy has recognised the many strengths of De Warenne Academy


    We are pleased that the OFTSED inspection of the Academy has recognised the many strengths of De Warenne Academy and that inspectors confirmed our view that the school is improving. Inspectors highlighted the following strengths:

    • The principal has a clear vision. She is resilient, astute and determined to do well for the pupils.

    Eid this year is predicted to fall on either Friday 15th June or Saturday 16th June.  If it falls on Friday 15th June, that day's absence for your child will be authorised.  If it falls on Saturday 16th June, your child will be expected to attend school the following Monday (18th June) as normal.

    As part of Read to Succeed, our whole-school reading initiative, we would like to invite you to access The Little Library at JWA. Students, parents, and visitors to the Academy are welcome to browse our collection of fiction and non-fiction texts, nestled snuggly in the corner of our reception area. See something you’d love to read? Take it home! When you’ve finished reading it, bring it back and swap it for another read.  If you have a book at home that you’d love to pass on, bring that along and pop it on

  • Healthy Eating Week

    For Healthy Eating Week, Ladybirds and Butterflies tried some different fruits! We tried plums, nectarines, pineapple and raspberries.  

    We didn't like the raspberries very much but we loved the pineapple!

  • Smoothie Bikes

    11th June 2018 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    During Healthy Eating Week we had the 'Smoothie Bike' come into school. We got to choose our own fruits to go into the blender and we had to pedal the bike to make the blender work. It was tough but we got a beautiful smoothie at the end, even though some fruits were not to everyones taste!
