  • Harvest Festival

    3rd October 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    On Monday 3rd October the whole school took part in a Harvest Festival celebration at the church.

    Class 1 retold the story of The Little Red Hen using actions from Talk for Writing. To do this in front of a congregation after only being at school for a few weeks was really brave. We were very proud of them. Class 2 sang us a Harvest song they had been learning and talked about what they had learnt about Harvest. Class 3 told us about the globalism of food and Class 4 talked about the uneven food distribution

  • Parent Voice updates

    3rd October 2016 - The Parks Academy

    Beginning our next round of improvements we have 

    • opened up both sides of the main gates in the morning and afternoon
    • Ordered a big sign for EYFS
    • Begun to update a who's who on this website, starting with safeguarding
    • EAB parent members have redrafted the home/school agreement and submitted to the academy for appraisal

  • PIZZA CATCHUP

    3rd October 2016 - Ash Hill Academy

    The Maths department hosted their first "Pizza Catchup" session on Thursday night. What a great start to the year, with around half the year group staying to work through examination questions under the guidance of specialist teachers. All students worked hard and I'm sure will go on to great success this Summer.

    Great to see students from all classes in attendance, full of enthusiasm and by the end of the session full of pizza from a local pizza house!

  • Price Increase

    3rd October 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Chartwells have advised us that the price of some items will increase with effect from Monday 3rd October with the details as follows:

    Meal Deal Increase by 5p from £2.00 to £2.05 

    Bacon Sandwich Increase by 5p from 95p to £1.00

    Cheese and Bacon Bagel Increase by 10p from 95p to £1.00

    Pizza Increase by 5p from £1.20 to £1.25

     

  • Guide Dog Fundraising

    3rd October 2016 - Wybers Wood Academy

    This year, our academy have decided to help support Guide Dogs for the Blind.  As part of this, Graham Fordham very kindly came into school with his guide dog, Storm.  They both met pupils from each year group and Graham explained what an amazing difference Storm makes to his life.

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning

    30th September 2016 - Serlby Park Academy

    The challenge was on! Having had someone very close to me go through Cancer treatment in the last year, I decided to run the Macmillan Coffee morning at Serlby Park Academy this year.

    Having asked both staff and students to bake for the 30th September, I was overwhelmed with the response from everyone. There were super show-stopping cakes, buns, biscuits and cookies from everyone!

  • The Big Sleep Out

    29th September 2016 - John Whitgift Academy
      In July students from year 7 and 8 braved the inclement summer weather to sleep out under the stars for charity. The students got to experience the difficulties faced by thousands of homeless people across the country each and every night.
      Students had to build their own shelters out of cardboard, string and bin bags, strong enough to survive the rain and wind. Students were not allowed their phones or gadgets to help replicate those who have very few possessions. Students were given soup, hot drinks and
  • Year 10 River Eau field trip

    29th September 2016 - John Whitgift Academy

    In July students from year 10 went on their Geography fieldtrip to the River Eau in Lincolnshire.

    The students visited three different sites along the river to measure how the river changes. Students collected data on the width, depth and speed of flow. These measurements are allowing them to write up their controlled assessments which contributes 25% of their overall GCSE Geography grade.

    29th September 2016 - The Parks Academy

    The Parks Football Team were in action playing other schools and although not the overall winners of the Cameron Cup, The Parks Football team showed real teamwork and determination this week. Winning 3 games, drawing once and only having one loss. Parent and carer support was fantastic and everyone was proud to play in aide of The Breathe for Cameron Asthma Awareness campaign.

  • Interview Training for Year 11

    28th September 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On the 28th September 2016 Mrs A Lay (the Academies HR Officer) invited Mrs N Ahmed and Mr J Hawkesworth (from Teaching Personnel) to the Academy, to work with a selection of Year 11 students on interview expectations and techniques.  All the students felt that the presentation had been informative and the tips they had learnt would stand them in good stead for their future progression from the Academy.  Good Luck.
