    1st July 2016 - The South Leeds Academy

    Just before the end of the summer term, six  of our talented Year 9 students were invited to take part in the Hammersons Business Challenge at Leeds Kirkgate Market. The challenge, which is designed to introduce budding entrepreneurs to the real world of market trading, is an annual event where local school children have the opportunity to set up a stall in the historic Grade I listed building and trade to the public during the challenge 'trading day'.

  • Year 5 High Ropes

    1st July 2016 - Weelsby Academy

    Year 5 had a great time on their annual visit to High Ropes!  We got to try our hand at archery, and had a little tournament (Riley and Decklen were the winners!)  We also developed our map reading and observation skills in the orienteering session.  After a well-deserved lunch break, it was onto the ropes course.  We started off on the low ropes to build up our confidence and then progressed to the main course.  The main verdict was... “scary”!  However, everyone was very proud of themselves for giving it

    30th June 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Thursday 30 June Year 3 and 4 children from; St Peters Church of England, Flying High Academy and Crescent Primary School all came together for the QEA Family of Schools Squash Festival of the year.  Farmilo Primary School and Intake Farm Primary Schools, sadly could not make the final, however they had took part in the coaching within their Primary Schools.

  • INDUSTRIAL ACTION – Tuesday 5th July 2016

    30th June 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    The National Union of Teachers (NUT) representing some teachers in schools have voted to take industrial action in the form of a one-day strike on Tuesday 5th July 2016.

    We respect the teachers’ right to take this action in the dispute they have with the Department of Education.  However, we recognise that this will be disruptive to students’ education and can create problems for parents and carers.  We will therefore try our best to minimise any disruption to the normal function of the academy.

  • Important Infomation about Rock Challenge

    29th June 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    The Final is being held at Grimsby Arena, as it said in the original reply slip teacher. Children will be travelling to the arena from school at 8:00am. Please ensure that your child/ren is at school no later than 7:30am tomorrow morning. We will provide breakfast at this time.


    Children are not required to wear their school uniform, however, please ensure that they wear sensible/comfortable clothing e.g. jogging bottoms, trainers. A Rock Challenge t-shirt or jumper will be provided for each child on the day

  • GCSE Art Exhibition 2016

    29th June 2016 - The Grove Academy

    On Tuesday 28 June 2016, The Grove Academy held their annul Art Exhibition.  This was to celebrate the GSCE art work.  Despite the downpour, students, friends, families and staff all enjoyed the celebration and being able to talk to the students about their work.  It does look fabulous.

    Mrs Hamilton and a Food Technology student prepared a delicious buffet.  The whole exhibition was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

  • Year 5 and 6 visit

    28th June 2016 - Crookesbroom Primary Academy

    Year 5 and 6 had an amazing day at Murton park where they had the opportunity to be Vikings for the day. They participated in tasks such as; making bread and working the farm, watching and guarding the fort, making beautiful pottery and learning to become hunters. Everyone enjoyed the day despite a little bit of rain!

  • Help for Heroes

    28th June 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Congratulations to our Commando Joe's walking team who successfully scaled one of the Three Peak mountains yesterday to complete the challenge set by Commando Joe mentor Scott Palmer and raise funds for Help the Heroes.  They completed hours of training with Scott, secured sponsorship from friends and family, and even washed staff cars to raise money for this cause!

  • Rock Challenge Northern Finals

    Following the'Be your best Junior Rock Challenge 2016'performance at the Hull Ice Arena in April, we are incredibly excited to announce that the children's ongoing dedication and commitment and the outstanding efforts that they put into their performance, has resulted in Craven securing their place in The Northern Finals!


    This takes place on Thursday 30th June at Grimsby Audotorium.


    We would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate the children on their efforts!

  • Kingswood residential

    24th June 2016 - Highfields Primary Academy

    Some of our children went on a residential trip to Kingswood on the 17th June - 19th June accompanied by Mrs Carlisle, Mrs Walker and Miss Pervez. The trip was a wonderful and exciting experience for the children as they were able to try out new activities;
