    8th October 2017 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    Last week Radio Humberside made a surprise appearance at our academy. They spoke to several children about the delights of Hull Fair. This included their favourite sights, smells and memories of the fair. As a result of this, Look North asked to attend our Hull Fair themed lunch on Friday afternoon to find out more about our tasty lunches. Camera crews filmed our exciting lunch and interviewed several children for Friday nights programme.

  • Moto in the Community - Writing competition

    6th October 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    We are delighted to announce the launch of our latest library competition, which is supported by our local partner 'Moto in the Community' and the famous children's author Gill Lewis. 

    Pupils in Years 4, 5, 6 and 7 have the chance to write their very own story, which should be no less than 200 words using a selection of 'story starters' provided by Gill Lewis. (These are available from the library).

  • Blue Whale App

    6th October 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    You may be aware of an app called the Blue Whale Game which has been featured in the news recently in connection with young people being challenged to carry out sinister daily challenges, the ultimate one being to commit suicide. No deaths in Britain have been linked to the game, but police officers have posted online warnings for parents.

    We would advise parents to check your child's electronic equipment for any such content, delete it, and discuss the implications and risks of such apps with your child.

  • INSET Monday 9th October 2017

    6th October 2017 - St Wilfrid's Academy

    A reminder to all parents and carers that Monday 9th October is an INSET day at SWA and the academy will be closed to students. Students who would normally attend vocational placements, work experience or their home academies on Mondays will still be expected to attend these as normal.  The academy will open as usual from Tuesday 10th October.

    For all students who attend every day at the academy, from Monday 2nd October 2017 to Thursday 26th October 2017, they will receive a reward from the spooky prizes on offer!

    The foremost prize for Years 7 & 8 will be entry to a Halloween Disco, to be held between 5.00pm and 7.00pm on Thursday 26th October 2017. At the disco there will be - prizes for best fancy dress, and prizes for best pumpkin (no candles!)

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning and Jeans for Genes

    4th October 2017 - The Grove Academy

    The Grove Academy started its annual round of fund raising on Friday 29th September by joining in the biggest coffee morning in the world – the Macmillan Cancer Care Fund Raising Coffee Morning. Staff and pupils baked cakes and other goodies, which were served in the library (heavily disguised as a bijou bistro). Parents and other visitors were welcomed and took the opportunity to see their children’s work as well as enjoy the refreshments. All proceeds from this went to Macmillan Cancer Care.

  • Our Italian Job!

    4th October 2017 - The Vale Academy

    Fantastic memories were forged when geography students from The Vale visited Italy.

    The packed four-day agenda to the Bay of Naples included trips to the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, volcano Mount Vesuvius, picturesque Sorrento, Roman remains at Herculaneum, and a tour of the volcanic Phlegraean fields area.

    Visit leader Richard Hughes said it was a memorable few days.
