Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Grange Lane has Talent!

    12th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Wow we have so much talent here at Grange Lane. We were entertained with various acts this afternoon from each year group as part of our activities week. There was singing, dancing, acting, gymnastic displays and sporting skills on show which had the whole school clapping and cheering.

    Mrs Elliott & Mr Murrell were the impartial judges who decided on the overall winners of each year group.

    Thank you to everyone to came and enjoyed, sang along and shed a few tears watching the year 2 leavers assembly today. Our year 2 children have been a fabulous year group and we wish them the very best as they move forward into junior school.

  • Worlaby Academy does the Olympics!

    11th July 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    We had an amazing, active, action packed week trying lots of different events! During the week we took note of children following the Olympic and Paralympic values of: Friendship, Respect, Excellence, Determination, Inspiration, Courage and Equality. We finished the week awarding our Olympic medals for these values in each of our sports. The sports were: archery, multiskills, basketball, martial arts, cricket, skipping, football, skateramp and street dance.

  • Sports Day

    11th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    We had a marvellous mini kicks sports day today with lots of skill based activities to test our abilities!

    We had a great time taking part in various obstacle courses, balancing tests and races. The winners of the running races competed in the final for which Sean Simpson was the winner with Darcey-Ley and Charlie Armstrong coming in closely behind. We even had a teachers race, which Mr Riley with his long strides easily won.

  • The Summer Holidays

    8th July 2016 - The Elland Academy

    Life at The Elland Academy does not stop because its the Summer holidays. PC Hides has activities planned for students such as a sports camp and horse riding followed by a healthy lunch. Miss Procter will also be attending the events.

    Continued engagement through out the holidays by PC Hides helps to reduce anti-social behaviour in and around the local community.
  • Seasonal Work in English

    8th July 2016 - The Elland Academy

    In Autumn, students focused on learning about personification, creating figures from autumn leaves and writing about them.

    In Winter, we created a puppet theatre version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

    Now in Summer, we are creating a garden – based around an imagined and magical world. In this world students are exploring myths and heroic legends, through characters they have created.

  • Year 6 Transition Week

    8th July 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    From Monday 4 July  Year 6 students spent almost a week at Queen Elizabeth's Academy to help prepare for their start in September.


    Students had the opportunity to  tour the academy, take part in lesson experiences, experience a “ what about me day” which involved lots of team games and understanding everyone’s own strengths and differences. 

    The students spent time with their house leaders and completed transition booklets throughout the week, which allowed time for them to build relationships with key staff

    8th July 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Wednesday, 6th July saw the third annual ROSCARs Ceremony held at Rossington All Saints. As always, the audience were treated to an evening of spectacular entries across all key stages at Rossington schools: ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ won the Foundation Stage award with the Tornedale Infant Academy’s Neptune Class taking home story book resource packs to use in their next adventures; Key Stage 1 winners included entries about Andy Goldsworthy and ‘The Queen’s Knickers’; a professional film trailer too

  • Accelerated Reader

    8th July 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Readers in Year 7-9 have been devouring books since September,  They have managed to read 23 million words so far this year surpassing their target of 20 million words!

    Special congratulations go to Ella Hughes and Matthew Hall who were the star readers for their own particular years.

    Each time students pass a quiz they are entered into a raffle and this terms winners were Mia Hornsby and Molly Wilson.

    Our reception children were given the task of making an extravagant crown with their parent or carer and as you can see some were more amazing than the queens!

  • Taster Days for Year 10

    Over the past week Year 10 pupils have attended several Taster Days at Hull College, Wilberforce 6th Form College and Wyke 6th Form College. They have been very interesting and inspiring experiences.

  • Harry Potter Trip

    8th July 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Friday 8th July we took fifty pupils to the Harry Potter studio tour London.  We were transported through original sets including the Hogwarts Great Hall, the Gryffindor common room, Headmaster Dumbledore's office and many other surprises from the 8 movies that have taken the world by storm.

    The pupils really enjoyed looking at the original costumes, props and authentic stage sets and as the photo demonstrates, learning how to cast their own magical spells!
