  • Rocket Challenge

    11th July 2018 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Congratulations to King House who have won the Technology Rocket Challenge on both weeks this year.

    Last week's winners were:

    Damien Houghton and Daniel Peart with 28.7m in the final.

    This week's winners were:

    Leah Lawton and Troy Dark with 34.6m in the final.

    Damien and Daniel hold this year's overall rocket record of 47.4m.

    As we move to the revised house system in September the record for each house will now stand for all time as:

    4th King House 47.4m

    3rd Teresa 59.4m

    2nd Parks 60.8m

    Year 11 GCSE Photography students, who have recently completed their studies, produced some fantastic and memorable pieces that are now adorning the walls of the art studio. The photography shown is a selection of students’ personal responses to exam and coursework themes of human figure, framing, light and dark, sense of place and connections.

    We are delighted to announce that 2 groups of Year 10 students from Serlby Park Academy reached the grand finals of the prestigious annual Ryman National Enterprise Challenge, the UK’s largest school’s enterprise education competition. This is a huge achievement as 50,000 students, 10,000 teams and 275 schools entered the competition.

    It’s been a very busy time here at Serlby Park Academy in the last few weeks. Y5 pupils from our Feeder Schools have experienced life at Secondary, the pupils took in part in a variety of lessons and met different teachers throughout their day.   • Sports Days

    8th July 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    We were treated to some wonderful competition last week at both the KS1 and KS2 Sports Days. It was great to see the children performing to such a high standard. They had been practising all the skills they were going to need in P.E lessons in the weeks leading up to the big days. The high temperatures on both days added an extra challenge for the children taking part but they dealt with the conditions very well and sensibly.   • Tour de Garforth

    8th July 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    On Friday 6th July, five children from Y5 took part in the Tour de Garforth. This was a full day's cycling with other schools in Garforth, approx 40 cyclists in total. With the support of Cycle Leeds and the community police, we cycled to Lotherton Hall and back through country paths and cycle routes - a 16 mile round trip.

    A huge well done to our athletics team who won the Delta Games yesterday. 16 primary schools from within the trust took part.

  • Times Tables Rockstars

    6th July 2018 - Green Lane Primary Academy

    This year, Green Lane attended the Leeds Rock Wrangle. This is an annual competition organised by the Times Tables Rock Stars team. A team of three year 6s got to compete against children from all over the city. The speed and accuracy of times table recall at the event was tremendous and we came back inspired to continue our great work in promoting these skills at our academy.

  • Champions!

    6th July 2018 - The Vale Academy

    Victorious students returned to The Vale Academy after being crowned champions at the Delta Academies’ Games for the sixth successive year.

     

    The under 15 and under 13 teams beat 12 secondaries from across the Yorkshire and Humber region at the annual athletics event, held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.

    A thrilled PE teacher Nicola Hewitt said there had been fantastic individual and team performances.
