  • Year 6 Transition Week

    8th July 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    From Monday 4 July  Year 6 students spent almost a week at Queen Elizabeth's Academy to help prepare for their start in September.


    Students had the opportunity to  tour the academy, take part in lesson experiences, experience a “ what about me day” which involved lots of team games and understanding everyone’s own strengths and differences. 

    The students spent time with their house leaders and completed transition booklets throughout the week, which allowed time for them to build relationships with key staff

  • ROSCARS

    8th July 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Wednesday, 6th July saw the third annual ROSCARs Ceremony held at Rossington All Saints. As always, the audience were treated to an evening of spectacular entries across all key stages at Rossington schools: ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ won the Foundation Stage award with the Tornedale Infant Academy’s Neptune Class taking home story book resource packs to use in their next adventures; Key Stage 1 winners included entries about Andy Goldsworthy and ‘The Queen’s Knickers’; a professional film trailer too

  • Accelerated Reader

    8th July 2016 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Readers in Year 7-9 have been devouring books since September,  They have managed to read 23 million words so far this year surpassing their target of 20 million words!

    Special congratulations go to Ella Hughes and Matthew Hall who were the star readers for their own particular years.

    Each time students pass a quiz they are entered into a raffle and this terms winners were Mia Hornsby and Molly Wilson.

    Thank you to everyone who came to the last stay and make family craft session of the year.

    Our reception children were given the task of making an extravagant crown with their parent or carer and as you can see some were more amazing than the queens!

  • Taster Days for Year 10

    Over the past week Year 10 pupils have attended several Taster Days at Hull College, Wilberforce 6th Form College and Wyke 6th Form College. They have been very interesting and inspiring experiences.

  • Harry Potter Trip

    8th July 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Friday 8th July we took fifty pupils to the Harry Potter studio tour London.  We were transported through original sets including the Hogwarts Great Hall, the Gryffindor common room, Headmaster Dumbledore's office and many other surprises from the 8 movies that have taken the world by storm.

    The pupils really enjoyed looking at the original costumes, props and authentic stage sets and as the photo demonstrates, learning how to cast their own magical spells! 

  • Prom of 2016

    7th July 2016 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Thursday 7 July the Year 11 students celebrated in style at The John Fretwell Centre in Sookholme were our annual prom is held.

    We certainly had some interesting transport this year from tractors, to cadillics to limousine and on foot!

    A big thank you to all the parents and carers for coming along to celebrate and support their son/daughters evening.  The arrival area was buzzing!

    All the young people had made a great effort and certainly dressed to impress all looking amazing !!!

    Year 13 students can collect their results at the academy from 7-30am on Thursday 18th August 2016.


    Year 12 students can collect their results at the academy from from 9am on Thursday 18th August 2016.

     

    Year 11 students can collect their results at the academy from 8-30 on Thursday  25th August 2016.

  • Kind Donation from South Electrical

    7th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    After hearing about the break in's this week, Managing Director, Richard South of South Electrical based at Harworth, has kindly donated some floodlights to help deter any unwanted guests at the school.

  • Oxford University presentation for Year 10

    7th July 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    On Thursday the 7th July 2016 five students in Year 10 were invited to attend an event at Wyke College organised by Oxford University.

    An introductory presentation showed students all the benefits of Oxford University life, including a mini quiz matching well known Oxford alumni with the courses they studied.

    Students were surprised to discover that Margaret Thatcher read chemistry at Oxford and was responsible for the formulation of Mr Whippy ice cream.

    It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that within one week we have been broken in to twice! On each occasion the building has suffered considerable damage and of course it has caused a lot of upset.

    We thank all our parents who have offered help, given kind words of support and shown patience while we have needed to get repairs arranged.

    Here are some pictures from the Roscars tonight! Well done to James and Teegan in foundation who were shortlisted for their senses poems. Penguins class were shortlisted for their Jack and the beanstalk! Also shortlisted was Sienna's poem about the Queen! Georgia and Darcey won the Ks1 poetry category with their riddle about the queen.   • SMSC Day at The Grove Academy

    6th July 2016 - The Grove Academy

    On the 4th of July all the pupils at The Grove Academy had a special timetable, with the theme of “Looking After.”  Dirty Maths, run by Mr Webster and Mr Hughes, looked at the awful graphs and statistics showing the number of tigers left in the world.  Pupils were thoroughly engaged but saddened.  They all came out of the lesson with thought provoking facts and figures.  SMSC Hydroponic, Science with Miss McLellan and Mrs Wilkinson looked at the varying nutrients that were needed to grow radish shoots in pe

    6th July 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    On Wednesday the 6th July 2016, a small group of year 8 boys were lucky enough to visit The Hive at Hull University.

    The Hull Immersive Visualization Environment (HIVE) has an array of advanced visualization, motion capture and computer graphics technology.

    Initially the boys watched a presentation given by Dr Jon Purdy; he explained how computer images were generated and showed the students how this had evolved over the last few decades.
