  • Anti Radicalisation Drama

    17th October 2016 - The Grove Academy

    As part of the work The Grove Academy does around the Prevent Agenda, on Friday 13th of October the Saltmine Theatre Company visited us and built a stage and set downstairs in our recreation area.

    The whole school watched the production, which was about the dangers of radicalisation and how it destroys friendships and lives. It was an extremely thought provoking experience, especially as the play focussed on two friends whose lives were torn apart by them both being drawn to extremism - one to Islamic extrem

    16th October 2016 - The Parks Academy

    On Friday, a group of Y6 pupils from The Parks visited Sirius North, along with pupils from other local primary schools. They spend the day working on very challegning English and Maths objectives, designed to stretch the most able.

    Pupils had a great day. We look forward to forging very strong links across the curriculum with our partners from Sirius North.

    What a fantastic week it's been so far! Pupils have been working hard at school and at home, learning much about this important subject. Yesterday we had a fantastic turnout for the workshop and today we look forward to having our BLUE DAY!     ManActCo inspire laughter and tears!

    As part of our drive to help students better understand some of the harder aspects of the English Literature syllabus, we have employed a visiting theatre group to perform set GCSE texts on three separate occasions at Ash Hill Academy.  ManActCo performed no less than 24 poems and excerpts from 3 separate Shakespeare plays within an hour, to start this process rolling on the morning of the 14th October.  They also lead a question and answer session for 30 minutes afterwar

    The 12th October we held our annual careers fair and it was our most successful yet. All years groups had the opportunity to meet over 30 different businesses and education provider’s to help students decide what they may want to do after school and as a career in their futures.

    Students all prepared for the day by filling in their own careers aspirations and areas of interest on a student record card. They also had to prepare questions to ask the visitors and had to reflect on the answer

    The Ash Hill Academy Basketball team travelled to Ridgewood School last night, putting on a fantastic display to win 46-14. Massive thanks to go the Ridgewood team as well as SchoolGames Doncaster, from all at Ash Hill Academy.
