    We would like to thank our pupils at Wybers Wood for being so fabulous and making our school such an amazing place to be.  Have a wonderful summer break.  Goodbye to our year 6's.  We will miss you and wish you all the best in your new secondary schools.

  • Non-Uniform Day

    19th July 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    As a result of the students ongoing ‘ relentless hard work and positive attitude to learning’ there will be a free (no charge) non-uniform day on Thursday.

    The academy will close on Thursday 21st July at 3PM for the summer break.

    There will be skeleton staff in the academy over the summer break to answer any urgent queries, any more formal queries will be responded to in September.

    Students will return to the academy at 8.20AM on Monday 5th September

  • Franklin College taster days

    19th July 2016 - John Whitgift Academy

    On the 11th and 12 of July John Whitgift students participated in a series of taster sessions at Franklin College centered around around Maths, English, History, Law, Physics and Bio-Chemistry. In the Maths and Physics sessions students looked at the big bang theory, English focused on developing creative writing skills, History & Law looked at the Jack the Ripper case and Bio-Chemistry saw students solving a real CSI case of murder!

    19th July 2016 - The Vale Academy

    A varied programme of music showcased The Vale Academy's wide range of talent in the end of term concert staged in a packed Westmoor Hall.

    It also meant Year 12 students had the chance to organise an event as part of their national diploma in music and gave an opportunity to practise before the music department’s concert at St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden, London.

    Curriculum leader for music Jayne Keeler praised every student who participated.

  • Rock Challegne Northern Finals

    18th July 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    What a year it has been for our Craven Rock Challenge team, ending with a  fantastic final performance in the Northern J-Rock finals at Grimsby last night. It was a long exhausting day but what an experience to have in only our second year of competing. The children were amazing both on stage but also during the day and are a credit to the Academy.     Friday 15th July saw Craven's final Award Ceremony for this academic year!

    Children were given Certificates/Prizes for many of their acheivements over this year, including:

  • My Pockets workshop

    18th July 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy
    On Friday 15th of July a group of students from Year 8 and a group of boys from Year 9 got to work with the innovative local company My Pockets.
    My Pockets is a multi award winning production company based in Hull and run by Peter Snelling and Sally Snelling, their recent work has included a programme which aired on BBC3 and have won numerous accolades for their productions.

    15th July 2016 - Highfields Primary Academy

    This morning the year 6 children took on the staff in a game of rounders, it was a tough game and both teams played well. In the end the teachers won 22.5 -9, well done to both staff and children that took part and all the children that came out and supported the teams.

  • Gardening Club at Rossington Summer Fayre

    15th July 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Thank you to everyone who popped by the gardening club stall at the Rossington Summer Fayre. The gardening club which children of Grange Lane Infant Academy attend as an afterschool club, made an amazing £109 profit.

    All of the £109 will be put back into the club to purchase compost, seeds, planters and seedlings for the children to enjoy this academic year. The gardening club at Grange Lane Infant Academy is managed by Mrs Waterhouse and is independently funded so they really appreciate all your all support

  • Princess Diana Volunteering Award

    15th July 2016 - The South Leeds Academy

    Since the academy building opened its doors in September 2006, the library has always appointed student librarians to help staff the library at break, lunch and after school and to act as positive role models for the rest of the academy. This year, in recognition of her hard work and over 70 hours of time as a student librarian, one of our Year 9 students, was awarded the Princess Diana Volunteering Award. The award, which was set up as a memorial to the work of the late Princess Diana, recognises the time,

  • Iceland Trek

    15th July 2016 - De Warenne Academy

    A number of students have worked hard over the past 2 years to raise money for a trek to Iceland. The trip which lasts just over a week has been going extremely well and below are some of the images taken during the activities. Thank you to Ms. Wain-Hobson and Mr Allgood for the hard work and dedication they have shown, we would also like to say that all the students have been amazing, and have supported each other as is the culture of De Warenne Academy.
