    The Arts & Craft Club have been busy with their spring creativity this week, as they have been making Easter bunnies. Following step-by-step instructions, they used small cloths, googly-eyes, pre-made faces and Cadbury’s Crème Eggs to produce the unique little Easter keepsakes.

    We were visited by some lovely animals today including calves, goats, ponies, rabbits, chickens, a tortoise and the cutiest lambs you can imagine.  The children learnt lots of different things about the animals including what they eat and how they live on the farm.

    As part of 'Make £5 blossom', the children in Year 5 have designed four the badges that will be on sale at the Academy from next week, each badge will cost 25p each. There are 4 to collect and if you buy the set then you will get a free limited edition city of culture badge!

    The Year 8 Assembly on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 hosted guest speakers from the Army Cadet Force. Sergeant Proud came in to speak with Year 8 students about the Army Cadets in general, the opportunities available, as well as the specifics of joining the local detachment at Thorne.

    Year 11 once again celebrated their phenomenal success in recent Maths and Science mock exams on Thursday night.  Awards were given out for students that have made exceptional progress and prizes given for top scorers. They then celebrated with dominoes pizza (30 pizzas demolished in 20 minutes)!  Miss Nicoll even made homemade Maths biscuits.  A great night - well done Year 11 we are almost there!

    GCSEs are just around the corner and revision is a priority for thousands of students. Exam anxiety is reportedly at record levels, so BBC Bitesize has stepped in.

    Last year, Bitesize asked students from across the UK what type of resources would help them deal with exam stress. The answer they gave us was short, shareable videos featuring young people who've recently taken their exams. 

    The Mind Set is a group of twelve young people, from a range of social backgrounds, with mixed GCSE and Nationals results.
