    On Saturday fifteen Year 11 Geography spent the day at De Warenne Academy for a whole day revision session. Good start of your revision!

  • Jungle Book

    10th February 2017 - Don Valley Academy

    Tickets are now on sale for our production of the Jungle Book. Monday 27th February, Tuesday 28th February, Wednesday 1st March and Thursday 2nd March.

  • ALL YEARS PARENTS EVENING

    10th February 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    The academy will be holding an All Years Parents’ Evening on Tuesday 14th February 2017, starting at 3.00pm. This will offer both students and their families a chance to check on progress made so far this term, as well as discuss next steps for the coming term. Year 11 students in particular will benefit from attending this evening, as they can discuss revision strategies and exam practice with their subject teachers.

  • Teams' memorable day in Derby

    10th February 2017 - The Vale Academy

    Top-performing five-a-side football teams from The Vale Academy represented North Lincolnshire and took on schools from across the East Midlands in regional finals in Derby.

     The boys’ and girls’ teams travelled to the Soccer Dome at Pride Park, home to Championship Derby County, in the English Schools’ Football Association competition after being crowned district champions.

     They competed against schools from Nottingham, Hull, Lincoln and Derby.

    9th February 2017 - The Elland Academy
    Year 11 have been sitting their functional skills English level 1 exams this week, excellent attitude towards these exams. The students have been having formal exchanges as part of the speaking and listening components and their confidence levels have grown in recent weeks. We cant wait to get the results back. 
  • First Aid Certificates

    9th February 2017 - The Elland Academy

    Six YR9 and three YR8s have all past their School First Aid Certificate. This is a Basic first aid qualification which last for one year. Some of the skills they had to learn was, the recovery position, CPR, how to manage an incident, bleeding and how to deal with choking.

    Hopefully next year these students can go on to achieve their Emergency First Aid certificate.

  • Year 10 and 11 at Hull York Medical School

    9th February 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    On Wednesday 8th February a small group of students from Year 11 and Year 10 visited Hull York Medical School.

    The day was entitled "Thinking of a career in medicine?".

    The boys received a warm welcome from Professor Una McLeod who is the Dean of School. This was followed by a short lecture from Dr Paul Docherty which had some helpful suggestions of things to prepare for if you want to study medicine.

  • Year 8 Leeds University Trip

    9th February 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Wednesday 8th February Mrs Robinson and a small team of staff supervised students on a trip to Leeds University.  The trip was aimed at more able students and was designed to encourage post 16 education and college admissions.  The students were treated to a guided tour of the university’s facilities, student union, gym, lecture halls, library and halls of residence.

    25 students from Year 11 enjoyed a trip to Edge Hill University this week, where they spent the morning working with University students currently training to be Maths teachers.  Lots of fun activities had been planned by the student teachers; mathematical treasure hunts, finding the volume and area of shapes as well as planning a dinner party using ratio.  Year 11 were then treated to a free lunch by the University and given a tour of the campus by student ambassadors.  It was a great day out and we look f

  • 3D Model of the Earth - Year 7

    8th February 2017 - Manor Croft Academy

    The 3D model of the Earth was built by Joe in Year7 as part of the Electro-magnetism Unit in Science.  It shows not only the magnetic field lines that protect the Earth from the Solar winds.  It also shows the structure of the Earth, as it is this structure that creates the magnetic field that we all take for granted.  Deep in the Earth there is a solid Inner Core of  IronNickel (In black in Joe's model) that spins inside an ocean of molten Iron/Nickel(in red) called the Outer Core.  It is this movement tha

    Today fifteen Y5 children visited the University of Hull. They saw what the university looked like when they had a tour. They found out about the types of courses they have on offer and even sampled a couple. The photos show a taster of what computer science is like. Going to a brilliant university like this is certainly something they can all do. Our pupils can be the very best.

    Our 'Reach fro the Stars' Day on Friday was such a success. We had Liam Welham come to talk to us about never giving up trying your very best. Pupils came in their favourite team's colours too and donated a minimum of 50p fo Hull FC Community Foundation. This charity helps support youngeters in our community who may be under privileged. We raised a fabulous £126.
