Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Highlights from last week!

    4th May 2017 - The Elland Academy
    Students took part in PSHE drop down sesions focusing on emotional well being. Students created cards, personal profiles and prepared for up-coming exams. Some students also carried out an enterprise activitiy by washing cars with all proceeds going to cancer research. Students raised £9 in just 1 hour!

  • KS2 Students continue Forest School Adventure

    This week the students and staff participated in some leadership games, a treasure hunt, constructed a mini assault course and made pop corn on the fire!

  • MAY ATTENDANCE COMPETITION

    3rd May 2017 - Ash Hill Academy

    The next attendance competition has now begun, with “Meerkat May”! All form groups with attendance above 97% between 2nd May 2017 and 31st May 2017 will be entered into a draw. One form in each year group will be selected at the end of the month, and will get a free day out at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

    For your chance to get your form group to see the animals, just make sure you attend the academy as much as possible – good luck.

  • Auschwitz Visit

    2nd May 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Ross Fairweather and Hannah Coope have been selected as the Lessons from Auschwitz student ambassadors for this year and, as such, on Tuesday 4th April they visited Auschwitz 1 and 2.  They had previously attended an orientation seminar to meet fellow students and gain further information and this was followed up by another seminar following the visit after which they will be organising a presentation that they will be delivering to other students in their collective worship assemblies.

  • Leeds Armouries

    2nd May 2017 - Weelsby Academy

    Year 3/4 had an amazing trip to The Leeds Armouries. Everyone was completely amazed by the age of some of the weapons. Some weapons were over 1000 years old. We all took part in a workshop and this meant trying on helmets, holding shields and swords. The most disgusting part of the trip was smelling scent boxes from Roman and Stone Age times. We smelt what homes would have smelt like and it was horrible! One of the most breathtaking exhibits was seeing a huge elephant with its full armour on. Nobody realis
