  • Inspiring Automotive Women

    24th May 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    A group of Y8 and Y9 female students attended the Inspiring Automotive Women event at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit yesterday.  It was a fantastic day where they had the opportunity to meet and be inspired by a number of the UK's highest achieving women in the automotive industry.  

  • 'Wrap, Splat, Hat'

    24th May 2017 - Serlby Park Academy

    This week in our library, primary pupils have been taking part in the 'Wrap, Splat, Hat' programme which is sponsored by Garnier.

    This programme aims to teach children about sun protection and how to have fun in the sun safely.

    Pupils have the opportunity to enter a fantastic poetry competition to remind people to 'Wrap, Splat, Hat' and stay safe in the sun.

    Closing date for the competition is Friday 16th June 2017 and all entries should be handed to Mrs Peel.

  • Sam's Safari Visit

    24th May 2017 - Grange Lane Infant Academy The nursery children had a great time with Sam's Safari last week. They were able to hold and touch a number of animals that many hadn't seen before. We had the pleasure of meeting Egor the Tortoise and was fascinated watching him eat a banana.

  • Manchester incident

    I am sure that you are aware of the tragic circumstances regarding the Manchester incident. Some children and young people in Wakefield attended the event and may also have family or friends who attended the event. I have received the following information from Dr Niall Devlin, Principal Educational Psychologist for children and young people, schools and lifelong learning.   • Postponement of Sponsored Walk

    23rd May 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Unfortunately, the Academy has been informed that the facilities at Hessle Rugby Club will not be available to us this Friday for our annual sponsored walk.  This is very disappointing as preparations have been put in place and the weather forecast was looking good.  However, this walk cannot go ahead without the amenities that Hessle Rugby Club kindly offer us, particularly the toilet facilities.

    We therefore, have no alternative but to re-arrange this very important date in our diary for Friday 16th June 2

  • Serlby Park Reading Challenge Update

    Well done to all our pupils who are currently taking part in the Serlby Park Reading Challenge.

    The challenge is now in it's fourth year and certainly looks set to break all records.

     

    So far this year:

     

    212  Pupils have achieved Bronze Level (Read 6 books)

     

    126  Pupils have achieved Silver Level (Read 12 books)

     

    55    Pupils have achieved Gold Level (Read 18 books)

     

         Pupils have achieved Platinum Level (Read 38 books)

    Year 9 students will be receiving their inoculation injections during Tuesday morning. They are to be given their specific appointment time by the Form Tutor, and it is essential that they arrive at the appointed time, so as to avoid delays for other students.

    Year 5 had a great residential trip at Whitby, a fun time was had by all. Please take a look at the photos taken whilst there.  The children were a credit to the school!

     



  • Conisbrough Music Festival visits the academy

    20th May 2017 - De Warenne Academy

    Today (Friday 19th May) James Taplin visited the academy to perform for students and promote the forthcoming Conisbrough Music Festival which will take place on 1st July 2017. After a performance for students in the auditorium to encourage students to take part in the academy talent show he held a jamming session with the Year 10 performing arts class, even handing his guitar over to Mia Ogley-Hough to play.
