Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Fund-raising Marathon

    16th January 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    Oak 6, one of the house groups at the academy proposed to the Academy Council that they organise a fund-raising day to raise money for Action Aid, a charity which works with children in developing countries to provide opportunities for education and social development. A target of £720 was set so that each of the four houses in the academy could support a child's education.

  • Stargazing Live

    9th January 2013 - The Vale Academy

    The Vale Academy was invited to provide a series of activities for the Stargazing Live Event which took place on January 8th 2013 at Waters’ Edge, Barton upon Humber. The event was superbly well attended and our students were delighted to be able to support it.

    Year 9 and Year 10 students were involved : Emily, Jordan, Hannah, Emily, Bram, Oliver, Cameron, Gabriella and Jade. They were supported by two 6th Form Physics students, Elliot and Ben.

  • Christmas Lunch Spectacular

    1st January 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    Year 11 catering students under the guidance and expertise of teacher Mr Ramage hosted an excellent Christmas lunch for the governors and special guest Mr Steve Hart, Project Manager Wates Contruction. The guests enjoyed excellent food which included Jamaican jerk fillet of pork, Supreme of chicken with fondant potato and festive savoury nut filo strudel. The students' hosting skills were fantastic and attention to detail was superb.

  • Cinderella & Rockerfeller

    20th December 2012 - Park View Primary Academy

     

    I'm sure you'll agree that this year our children excelled themselves in the Key Stage 2 performance of Cinderella & Rockerfella where we uncovered some hidden talents!!

    A big thank you to everyone involved, including the performers, singers, narrators and scenery, costume and props makers.

    A special thank you to all the staff, especially Mr deVeuve for his acting and musical direction.

  • Hunslet Hawks New Anthem

    13th December 2012 - Park View Primary Academy

    On Friday 13th December our year 5 children became recording stars!

    Our Academy along with Windmill Primary School joined other students from The South Leeds Academy joined Hawks players and staff, Leeds Rhinos staff, Ronnie the Rhino and Harry the Hawk at The South Leeds Academy to record a new anthem for Hunslet Hawks Rugby League Football Club to help give them inspiration!

  • De Warenne Dominate Badminton Competition

    3rd December 2012 - De Warenne Academy

    The academy entered two teams in an under 15 boys’ competition which was held at Rossington All Saints Academy. Both our A team (Adam Davies, Luke Hardy, Reagan Winder and Liam Shearan) and our B team (Aidan Bedford, Devon Robb, Asa Blake and Tyler Hardy) swept through the qualifying stages in November but the final was nerve-racking for both sides as the quality of opponents was very high and due to an injury to Liam the A team were one player down. They also had to play each other in the first match which

  • The Mansion House Xmas Fayre

    1st December 2012 - Rowena Academy

    All the children produced Christmas gifts, including tree decorations, gift tags and reindeer food to sell at the Mansion House Xmas Fayre to support the charities of the Civic Mayor. Well done to all the children. You should be very proud of yourselves.

    "On Thursday 29th November a number of selected students from Years 8 and 10 went to compete in the Doncaster Schools Indoor Athletics competition held at the EIS in Sheffield. Highlights from the day include Emily Jones 3rd overall in the long jump, Tiegan Handsley 3rd in the triple jump, Laura Cope 2nd in her 60m final, Tyler Hardy 2nd in his 60m final and Keanan Rolph 2nd in the 60m final. De Warenne were amongst ten schools that attended and were up against some tough competition but conducted themselve

  • Our local hero visits Hatfield Woodhouse

    23rd November 2012 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    What an exciting day it has been at Hatfield Woodhouse Primary.  A big thankyou to our children for displaying exemplary behaviour. The staff and children have enjoyed meeting with Ben Parkinson. The children enjoyed watching Ben's recent 'Skydive' DVD. The children at Hatfieldwoodhouse also spoke about why they had chosen to raise funds for his charity and also about what an inspiration he is to us all.

  • Real Life Superhero

    As part of our last terms topic Year 2 have managed to organise a visit by their real life Superhero 'Ben Parkinson' to Hatfield Woodhouse. The children on hearing about the fundraising events that Ben particpates in, they decided to support him by raising money for his chosen charity.  The whole school joined together in raising funds to support the 'Pilgrim Bandits charity'. A charity that Ben supports.
