  • Queen Elizabeth's BMX Champion

    19th September 2013 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    We have very many sporting achievements here at Queen Elizabeth's Academy in Athletics, Cricket, Football and now in.....BMX Rallying. Ben Timmons in Year 10 has recently shown his skills on the BMX and has become Regional Champion at the Under 15 trials held in Doncaster.

    Ben now aims to take on the the country and will competing in the National trials soon. We wish him every success and hope to update you soon with news of him being the National Champion!

  • Sponsored Walk over The Humber Bridge

    16th September 2013 - The Vale Academy

    Intrepid students will spend four weeks on an expedition to Borneo.

    To raise funds, Team Borneo 2014 took on a more local challenge with a fancy dress sponsored walk over the Humber Bridge.

    The students from The Vale Academy in Brigg will spend next July working in remote villages and the island’s rainforest.

    I am delighted to share with you our best ever results. The numbers in brackets are last years’ results and are there to demonstrate the improvements we have made. With a 7% improvement we are the second most improved school in North Lincolnshire. When you compare the performance of our students against the Government targets for our students we perform equally as well as most other local schools and academies when looking at their performance against their targets.

  • Year 7 Adventure Day...... Fanwoods

    Friday was a superb day for our new Year 7 starters. The entire cohort took on the challenge of Fanwoods Adventure Centre.

    Students have had a successful week acclimatising into Secondary School life, and so Manor Croft Academy thought it was time to give them a real test by challenging them against the activities put on by the team at Fanwoods.   • Becoming an International School

    8th September 2013 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    We have recently been awarded the Foundation mark for the International School Award! This is the first step to becoming a fully-fledged 'international school'.

    Last year Mr Deakin's class created a link with a school in Sri Lanka. This is continuing this year. But now, every class will be involved.

    We have already: written letters, shared work and spoken via email. As well as this, there will be exciting projects coming up very soon so we will keep you posted!

  • Exam Success

    6th September 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    The academy is celebrating record results in 2013. At A-level we had a 100% pass rate and a whole array of distinctions. As a consequence of this we were delighted that all students who applied were accepted by the university of their choice. At GCSE more students than ever gained a grade C or above in maths and both English and maths saw a big rise in A and A* grades.

    5th September 2013 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    The new academic year has started extremely well and the students were well presented on the first day back today. Almost all students were on time and in attendance which is great news and something that needs to continue throughout this academic year. We are aiming for all students to achieve between 97-100% attendance this year and we are aiming for 100% punctuality at all times and in all lessons.

    Following our recent Inspection which judged the Academy to be outstanding in all areas we are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been placed on the Ofsted list of Outstanding Providers for 2013. This is an excellent achievement and is an outcome that staff, governors, parents and pupils should all be proud of.

  • New Chapel Window

    23rd August 2013 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Students in Y9 have designed a new window for Queen Elizabeth's Academy Chapel. The students in Mrs Burton's Year 9 GCSE Art group worked collaboratively on the project after completing their GCSE coursework this summer.

    The students initially designed their own windows, then reworked the best parts of their designs into the final design which has been installed in the last week.

    22nd August 2013 - The Vale Academy

    We are absolutely delighted with our GCSE examination results this year.

    70% of the year group achieved 5A*-C grades, including English and Mathematics, with 79% of students achieving A*-C in Mathematics and 76% A*-C in English.

    24% of students achieved A*/A grades in both Mathematics and Science which are fantastic results with 19% achieving A*/A in English.

  • London Performing Arts Trip 2013

    24th July 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    This year a group visited London for two days and got the chance to experience two West End shows. On day one the group were in awe of the magical set used in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Umpa Loompas and the puppetry used in the show to tell Roald Dahls famous tale were a favourite aspect of the show for most.

  • Castle Academy Arts 2013

    19th July 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    In July Mrs Bradley and a group of Year 5 students from Castle Academy took part in a three day art project with Miss Grain from De Warenne's art department. Students worked together to make a large scale banner depicting Conisbrough Castle using lots of different textiles techniques. Each student had an A4 photograph and piece of fabric which were fixed together at the end to create a beautiful patchwork jigsaw of the castle.

    In July Miss Grain from De Warenne Academy's art department spent three days working with the nusery and reception classes at Rowena Academy to produce their 'Elephant Project'. Each year group had a papier mache elephant to decorate using paint and decopatch with each student having an input on the design and decoration of their elephant. The activity was organised by Mrs Campbell to support the school's application for the Artsmark Gold Award.
