    Another outstanding visit to London for 52 Year 8 students! Students were lucky enough to get great weather and superb views across London from the London Eye on the first day of the experience.     Tonight was our first match in quite some time so we were really looking forward to our match against Beeston St Francis Primary.

  • St Peter's Summer Concert

    18th June 2013 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    St Peter's Church of England Primary School held their Summer Concert here at Queen Elizabeth's Academy on Tuesday 18th June. The Main Hall was filled with parents, family and pupils from the school all in anticipation of what turned out to be a fantastic evening of music and drama.

    The pupils were well rehearsed and the performances were spectacular. The highlight of the evening for me was the KS2 Choir who performed effortlessly in harmony and closed the evening in a highly professional manner.

    On Saturday the 15th June the Academy held its first Summer Fayre. The weather held and it was a great success. Students had the opportunity to show their enterprise skills by running stalls which included: homemade cakes, cards, craft activities, face painting, lucky dips and a charity tombola, all of which were in aid of Framework, Mansfield’s main homelessness charity.  A huge well done to the students and a big thank you for coming to the Academy on a Saturday.     KS1 are looking forward to an exciting and funfilled afternoon with their Father's, Grand Dad's and uncles to join them in celebrating 'Father's Day'. Under no circumstance will this event will be cancelled.

    Due to the unpredictable weather we have made arrangements for activities to take place indoors but we are hoping for a bright sunny afternoon so that the activities could take place outdoors as per schedule. KS1 children and staff are looking forward to an exciting afternoon.

    As part of the Healthy Lifestyles curriculum in PSHRE Year 9 students are currently being 'trained' in the dangers of Niche tobacco products including Shisha and other speciality products.     Students from Queen Elizabeth's Academy took part in the competition “A Song for the Ashes “ on 8th May. Students from Queen Elizabeth’s Voices and twelve students within Year 10 and 11 took part in a recording of the song.

    The competition was designed to encourage local musicians and people who love cricket to come together to create a relationship between the Arts and Sport and produce an entry for the “Song for the Ashes” competition.

    3rd June 2013 - De Warenne Academy

    The first ever SPTA games took place at the EIS in Sheffield in May. Nine academies took part each entering U13 and U15 boys and girls teams. In the morning events De Warenne picked up some impressive results, highlights of which included Emily Jones gaining first place in the 200m and the long jump, Devon Robb and Tiegan Handsley coming second in the triple jump, Tyler Hardy taking first place in his 60m final and Shannon Cox coming second in the 200m.   • Grand Ambitions Project

    As part of the Breeze Youth Festival the students who attend Grand Ambitions (delivered by Leeds to Success), which is one of the Aspirational Activities funded by the JESS Cluster, conducted the public tour around the Grand Theatre on Thursday 30th May 2013 during half term.

    On Thursday 30 May, over 20 Boots UK colleagues supported the local community by helping to redecorate the Queen Elizabeth’s Academy student communal area in the Cloisters.

  • Pyjama Day - A visit from the Civic Mayor

    The children and staff held a Pyjama Day to raise funds for the Charities of the Civic Mayor. The Civic Mayor visited the Academy for an Assembly to collect a cheque for £100 and to thank the children for their fundraising efforts. She even came in her pyjamas!!

  • Volatile Substance Abuse Lessons at TLSA
