    17th July 2014 - The Vale Academy

    Parents are reminded that lessons finish at 2.30pm on Friday 18th July 2014 and students will be dismissed at this time.  The new term begins for students on Thursday 4th September 2014.  We wish you all a very happy and safe summer break.

  • Foundation Stage Sports Day

    17th July 2014 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    The Foundation Stage Sports Day was a big success and we would like to thank everybody who came to support the Nursery and Reception children. Despite the very hot weather, the children ran as fast as they could and took part in every race planned. Even the parents joined in with the final Parent Race.

    What a lovely end to a fantastic year!

     

  • Princess Anne July 2014

    16th July 2014 - The Vale Academy

    Her Royal Highness Princess Anne arrived at The Vale Academy by helicopter this morning and was welcomed by the academy's brass band. Princess Anne conducted a number of visits today around Lincolnshire. The students paused in lessons momentarily to watch this very special occasion.

  • Y5 London Visit with Hull Children's Uni

    16th July 2014 - Craven Primary Academy

    On the 16th of July our Year 5 class spent the day in London with the Hull Children's University.

    They had a full on day of exciting adventures, sightseeing and fun.

  • Foundation Stage Regatta!

    15th July 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Foundation stage 1 & 2 had a fabulous time this morning racing the boats they have made at home in the Regatta (the posh name for a boat race in Mrs Kantecki's paddling pool!)  We had so much fun and it was lovely to see all of our grown ups come along to cheer us on.  The lovely ladies of the PFA did a great job selling cakes, raffle tickets and drinks.  Well done to all children for taking part and thank you to all of the grown ups for supporting your children and helping us to raise £150.05 towards buyin

  • Celebration Tea Party

    15th July 2014 - Manor Croft Academy

    Just a quick message to say thank you to all those parents and staff that were able to attend the end of year celebration tea party. Over 200 people enjoyed the afternoon of celebrations. It highlighted perfectly the amazing students we have at Manor Croft Academy. Well done on a fantastic year.

    Potteric Carr is part of the "Yorkshire Wildlife Trust"

  • Hatfield Garden Party

    14th July 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    The small choir of children who sang on Hatfield Garden Party were very well received by those who attended. They were confident and charming in their rendition of 'Somewhere only we know'. Special mention must also go to Natalie who also danced a lively little number to Chantilly Lace.

    We are very proud that the children were willing to give up their Saturday afternoon to represent the school.

  • Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1 Sports day.

    13th July 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    What a fantastic morning we all had competing in the running race, bean bag race, egg and spoon race, sack race and the relay race! The rain held off so we could finish our races and let the toddlers who were spectating show us how its done! Well done to all of the children for taking part and trying their best!

  • Junior Leadership Interviews

    11th July 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    Junior Leadership Team interviews were held at the academy this morning.  The following students were successful and we would like to congratulate them: Emily Barker - Head Girl, Daniel Fussey - Head Boy, Karolina Jagielka - Deputy Head Girl, Ryan Boult - Deputy Head Boy,  Ross Boulton, Anesu Marecha, Laura Pezzuto and Charlotte Scott - House Captains. All candidates interviewed exceptionally well.

  • Learner of the Year

    11th July 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    Melior are very proud to announce that Kieren Laister (Year 10) has been awarded "Learner of the Year" for Construction at North Lindsey College.  He received a certificate and a trophy and was also mentioned in the Awards Ceremony Programme.

  • Melior Productions Awards Evening

    It is with great pleasure that we announce our first awards evening for the production company here at Melior Community Academy. Yesterday, the company members were handed an official invitation (to include their families too). The event will take place on Thursday 17th July at 7pm.

    We hope that the company members and their families will be able to attend and celebrate with us.

  • De Lacy Holiday Programme For Year 6 Leavers

    10th July 2014 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    Year 6 pupils who will be starting at De Lacy Academy in September have been given a 'De Lacy Holiday Programme booklet'  for them to take home and discuss with parents/guardians.  Any pupils wishing to attend on the sessions must complete the booking form. (Pupils on FSMs are able to book on the activities for free).

    It would be a great opportunity for pupils to come along so they can get a chance to meet staff and meet each other before September.

  • Uniform Update

    10th July 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    Uniform is now available to purchase from Shah's on West Street Scunthorpe, however, the academy currently have some remaining stock of Ties and Blazers. Blazers from the academy are available in sizes 34" upwards only. Ties are £4 and Blazers are £25 - £30 dependant on size.

  • Dancing with Dinosaurs

    10th July 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    This year's annual London theatre visit was another spectacular success with students enjoying the drama of War Horse and the music of Billy Elliott. Thirty students had an amazing two days which also included a visit to the Natural History Museum when they came face-to-face with dinosaurs and experienced the rumble of an earthquake.

  • Careers Event - Year 10 Mock Interviews

    10th July 2014 - Manor Croft Academy

    Year 10 students had their first real test with regards to interview pressure this week.

    Each student was tasked with trying to perform under pressure. Appointment times were given, advice into conduct and best practice offered, yet it was down to their own self confidence to perform.

    The students performed brilliantly. 95% turned up on time and suitably dressed in suits and dresses. We hope this experience will help them build confidence for the post 16 interviews that are just around the corner.

  • Strike Action

    9th July 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    On Thursday 10th July members of the NUT and GMB have been called to take strike action.This will not have an impact on the academy and we WILL BE OPEN AS NORMAL.
