  • Year 5 Science Workshops

    13th February 2014 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Queen Elizabeth’s Academy invited students in Year 5 from their Family of Schools and Partner Primary Schools to take part in a Science Workshop.  On Thursday 13th February Year 5 students from St Peter's Church of England Primary School visited the Academy to take part in the “Egg Race”.  The challenge was for the students to create a rocket type vehicle which could carry an egg filled with shaving foam.  The rocket would be fired and the overall winner would be judged on product design, distance travelled

  • Uniform

    11th February 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    We have been working hard to make sure that the children are wearing their correct uniform. Some parents have asked to have this clarified. As a reminder, children should wear:

     

    • Blue/white blouse, short or polo shirt
    • Black/grey trousers/skirt
    • Navy jumper/sweatshirt/cardigan (preferably with the school logo)
    • Black/grey tights or socks
    • Black shoes (not trainers)
    • Blue & white summer dress

     

    Please make sure that all uniform is named.

    7th February 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    De Warenne Academy was pleased to host Key Stage 2 PE training for teachers from the Conisbrough and Mexborough pyramid.

    The Matalan TOP Sport resources have been designed to help teachers unlock the potential of all children in PE at Key Stage 2; developing their thinking, physical and social skills, while enhancing their health and well-being. Teachers took part in delivering games, gymnastics, dance, athletics and adventure lessons.

  • Samba Workshop - WI

    6th February 2014 - The Vale Academy

    The Vale Academy samba band performed at Hibaldstow hall on Tuesday 4th February. They gave a short concert before the ladies of the WI took part in a samba workshop. Ladies, students and staff had a thoroughly enjoyable evening which concluded with the ladies performing a full samba piece along side our students. Congratulations to all!

    Students should contact individual staff directly to check timings. Sessions are subject to review and change leading up to the examination period. Some bespoke sessions will be available during the school holiday period and the timings of these sessions will be given to students directly.

    30th January 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    Sixth form students from De Warenne Academy and Rossington All Saints Academy went on a joint visit to the University of Sheffield Department of Biomedical Science electron microscope facility. The students, who are studying Level 3 Applied Science BTEC, enjoyed a guided tour of the laboratories and found out how the microscopes can be used to magnify specimens over 150,000 times.

    Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall Launches Fruitshare!

    The River Cottage programme launched a promotion for free fruit trees for schools during the current Channel 4 series.

    With the help of the Woodland Trust and Abel & Cole, they are giving away thousands of winter-planting free packs for schools across the UK.  Hugh thinks getting children involved is a great way to build our country’s fruit stocks for the future, which is why they would love to see children all over the country planting orchards at their school

  • Celebration of the Arts

    29th January 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    Students of all ages were invited to take part in the first House Music Competition which was organised by the Y13 music group as part of their BTEC Level 3 studies the students. Students competed in three categories: vocal, keyboard and instrumental and all performers received a certificate and earned points for their house. The successful performers in each category represented their House in the finals which were staged at the ‘Celebration of the Arts’ event attended by proud parents and friends. The art

    28th January 2014 - Delta Academies Trust

    28th January 2014 - Delta Academies Trust

    Hardworking sixth-form students from De Warenne Academy were awarded graduation certificates by the Mayor of Leeds at a ceremony at Leeds Metropolitan University. The certificates were awarded to students who successfully completed the 'Progression Module' which guides and prepares students for university applications.

  • Aladdin

    27th January 2014 - Melior Community Academy

     ‘Aladdin’ will be performed by Melior students on the evenings of 11th, 12th and 13th March, starting at 7.30pm.  The production will last approximately 2 hours 20 minutes.  Tickets will be priced at:
