Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • KS2 Disco

    13th June 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    Year 6 are hosting a school disco for Key Stage 2 pupils to help raise money for School Fund. The disco will start at 3.30pm and finish at 4.45pm on Thursday 26th June. The theme of the disco is the World Cup, we would like pupils to wear clothes that represent a country competing in the World Cup ie: colours of the flag.


    There will be several games during the disco including: Guess the Teacher, Lucky Dip and Hoopla.


    Tickets will cost £1.00 each and pupils will need to return their permission slip from pare

  • Cultural Studies Homework

    Year 10's Cultural Studies current hot topic of conversation and unit of study is upon 'Human Rights', where one dedicated individual, Miss Emily Barker, has truly embraced her homework objective and inspired her peers with her original composition of a song that questions and highlights the needs for Human Rights.

    Melior students will perform their production of 'Let Me Be Your Star' on three evenings and one afternoon as below.  A little something for everyone to enjoy, the productions will showcase the talent of Melior Students.

    This week's 'R for Learing' is Risk Taking. In Miss Collier's assembly this morning, the children learnt about the heroic acts of the little ships at Dunkirk. The risks they took, saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers.

  • Tata Kids of Steel Triathlon

    6th June 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    Students volunteered to take part in the Tata Kids of Steel of Triathlon event which took place at the PODs on Thursday 22nd May.  The students competed in a 50m Swim, 1000m Bike Ride and a 500m Run.

    The Prom will be held at a surprise venue on Friday 4th July. Bookings will be taken from Monday 12th May until Friday 13th June. No bookings will be taken after this date. The price per ticket is £25. Students can also exchange VIVO points for Prom tickets – the amount of vivo points and their cumulative value can be obtained from Mrs Rotheram on Reception.   • Staff Student badminton

    6th June 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    There was a good turn out from both staff and students for this year's badminton challenge. Teams were drawn on the night and then put into 4 pools to compete against one another. The winners of each pool went through to the semi-finals.

    Semi-finalists were Miss Wain-Hobson/Adam Davies, Mr Storey/Devon Robb, Mr Burger/Josh Taylor and Mr Turton/Tyler Moreland.

    The final was contested by Mr Storey/Devon Robb and Mr Burger/Josh Taylor. After a close fought match, Mr Storey and Devon came out winners.

    We have 3 Year 7’s and 4 Year 8’s accepted into MENSA! 

    For their age, this is a phenomenal  achievement.


    They are:

    Nathaniel Vionnet IQ 152 top 2% of the population, Jared Beasley IQ 152 top 2%, Thomas Parker IQ 151 top 2% , Kyle Driffill 156  top 1% , Mark Love 154 top 2% , Grace Berridge 151 top 2% and Charlotte Cowling 150 top 2%.



    This is a very proud moment for the Academy, the students and their parents.


  • Year 8 Saga Writers Achieve Success

    4th June 2014 - Manor Croft Academy

    Mr Crosby’s Year 8 students have been proving themselves as top writers in recent English lessons. The students entered a Mini Sagas competition, writing stories based around scenes from the film Jurassic Park. The catch though, was that they could only write a maximum of 100 words, meaning that real skill was required in order to relay the tension and atmosphere of the piece!

    World Cup Week commencing Monday 16th June 2014

    Celebrate the World Cup with a week full of exciting dishes from the competing nations: Italy, Australia, England, Algeria and Brazil.

    The promotion will also include a lucky plate competition with a sporty gift to be won each day of the week.  Just find a sticker on the bottom of your plate to win.

    3rd June 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    A big thank-you and well done to both the mum's who completed a sponsored run to raise money for our new Samba drums. We are very grateful for their creative fun-raising spirit and their support for the school.

    They made it around the 5km course in 38 minutues.

    Can all sponsor money now be brought into the school office or given to Joanne Walker and Joanne Phillips ?

    We have be infomed by Ofsted today, that our academy will be inspected on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th June 2014.

    Each pupil will bring home a letter and further details in a leaflet about the inspection.

    28th May 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Unfortunately a burst pipe in the entrance hall to school during the May Bank holiday has brought down the ceiling. For safety, visitors to Reception are asked to enter school through the Pupil and Staff entrance (off the playground) for the week of June 2nd -6th.
