Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

    27th June 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    At the beginning of year 10 I was recommended by Miss Wain-Hobson, my PE teacher, that I join an athletics club due to the success of winning the 200m with a time of 27.75 at the English Institute of Sport School Partnership Trust athletics competition. Miss Wain-Hobson wrote me an information letter explaining everything I needed to do to join the nearest athletics club, which just so happened to be 20 minutes away from my house. She rang the club (Doncaster Athletics Club) and organised for me to go down

  • Huddersfield Town & Dewsbury Rams Activities

    24th June 2014 - Manor Croft Academy

    Once again, Huddersfield Town and Dewsbury Rams Success Centre are holding activities during the first 2 weeks of the school summer holiday.  The activities are targeted at pupils aged 8 – 11 and will take place 10.00am – 3.00pm across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week (Only one week will be held at  Dewsbury Rams).

    • Activities will include: Arts and Crafts, ICT projects, Team Challenges and Outdoor Skills

  • Summer Fair

  • Book Fair

    19th June 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    The book fair is back! We will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair after school for 1 week, starting from Wednesday 25th June - Tuesday 1st July in the school hall.

     

    The good news is that due to our success last time, the books will now be half price! This will be our last book fair until March 2015 so please support us as much as you can.

     

    Every book you buy helps us to earn free books forour school. We were able to purchase new books for every Year Group from the proceeds we earned at the last book fair.

    18th June 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    Sports Day this year took place on Wednesday 18 June. Holly came into the competition as holders of the title, a position they had maintained for three consecutive years. They were also in the lead at the beginning of the day as they had won three of the four inter-house football competitions that had taken place the week before.   • Beast Creator - Sam's Safari visit

    Year 5 were lucky enough to have a visit from Sam's Safari yesterday!

    The children met a range of different mini-beasts including African snails, millipedes, stick insects, cockroach, locusts, beetles and more.

    This will help us to design our own mini-beasts, as well as learning about the different mini-beasts that exist.

  • Rowena Academy to become a Teaching School

    We are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been selected by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) to become a national teaching school. Rowena Academy is to be paired with The Vale Primary Academy in Knottingley within a Teaching School Alliance.

    Teaching Schools take a leading role in recruiting and training new entrants to the profession, identifying leadership potential and providing support for other schools. 

    Rowena Academy was one of only 200 schools in England to be granted

  • Beeston Festival

    14th June 2014 - Park View Primary Academy

    It was lovely to see so many children and families at the Beeston Festival at the weekend.

     

    Face painting, mehndi and the tombola were  a huge success and we raised nearly £200 which we will be using to enhance our school library with some lovely new books!

     

    We still have some raffle tickets left to win a signed rugby ball and the raffle will be drawn in Friday's assembly.

  • Fabulous Father's Day Fun!

    What a lovely afternoon FS2 and KS1 have had celebrating Father's day with our daddies, grandpas, uncles, cousins and brothers.  Thank you to all those who came along to enjoy a picnic with your children and an afternoon of fun, activities, ice-cream and a daddy football match! 


  • Quad Kids Team Winners

    13th June 2014 - The Vale Academy

    The Y7/8 Quad Kids team won the North Lincolnshire Schools competition. All students had to complete the 100m, 800m, Long Jump and Vortex Throw.

    • Monday 23rd June 2014 at 9.00am

     

     

    Students are NOT expected to wear uniform for the exam preparation sessions.  The sessions will be held in the usual room.
