  • 2014 Doncaster Schools Cross Country

    18th May 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    On Saturday 17th May four teams of cross country runners from Hatfield Woodhouse took part in the Doncaster Schools Cross Country. It was a baking hot day and we were really pleased with the good sportsmanship and effort put into the event by all our runners. Congratulations to Ella from Year 3 who came 5th in the Under 9 girls and won a trophy.

  • Support needed

    15th May 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Please help two of our mums raise money for New Samba Drums for our school by sponsoring them to complete a 5K race on the 1st June.

    All pupils will be bringing home a sponsor sheet tonight.

    Please ensure that all money is handed direct to the mums Joanna Walker or Joanne Phillips or into the office by 2nd June 2014.

  • Year 6 SATS over for 2014!

    15th May 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Well done to all the pupils and staff involved with the Year 6 SATS this week. It has been (at times) a gruelling week so thank-you for all your hard-work and revision. Fingers crossed for good results in July.

    Here we see the tennis lesson after the final test on Thursday, with Year 6 teaching the Year 1 class!

  • Youth Sports Trust Silver Quality Mark

    We are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been awarded the Youth Sports Trust Silver Quality Mark for Physical Education. Youth Sports Trust works with primary schools to raise standards and achievements in physical education. The Quality Mark is recognition of the high quality PE, physical activity, school sport and clubs that we deliver at Rowena Academy. A huge thanks to Mrs Webster for all the hard work she does as our P.E Co-ordinator in organising all our clubs and P.E activities.

  • Messy Church

    14th May 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    St Mary's Church, Ladybrook, will be hosting 'Messy Church' sessions at 3.30pm on the following 3 dates:

    2nd June 2014

    7th July 2014


    These sessions are free of charge and there will be various activities available ie: crafts, games, songs and stories. There will also be refreshments available.

    Everyone is welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • School Crossing Patrol Wanted!

    7th May 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    We have been informed by the County Council Road Safety Department that the person they were hoping to appoint as a Crossing Patrol was not suitable and that the Crossing Patrol for Ladybrook Lane has been taken ill. We wish her a speedy recovery. Therefore we currently have no Crossing Patrol on the Ladybrook Lane site or Harrop White Road site, in the meantime whilst there is no patrol, please ensure that your child is accompanied to and from school by someone responsible.

  • Bailey from Dogs Trust visited Year 1

    5th May 2014 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    Year 1 pupils had a visit from Bailey the dog & his carer Anthea from The Dogs Trust. Anthea taught the children how to care for a dog.


    We always like it when he visits us at school, he always gets lots of attention from the children.

  • More Children having School Dinners!

    4th May 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Year 5 children helped to choose from a number of providers of school dinners. The company they selected was Chartwells, a national company who pride themselves on using fresh local produce. The children now have 4 choices every day: a hot meal, a vegetarian meal, jacket potato or sandwiches. They enjoy selecting from the menu in their classromm and wearing a coloured wrist-band to indicate their choice.

  • Temporary changes to lunchtime

    2nd May 2014 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    I am writing to let you know about the temporary changes to lunch time during the exam period. We are proposing to make the lunch time from 12:15pm - 12:50pm for a 6 week period. This will mean three lessons before lunch and two after lunch.

    This will ensure that all Year 11 students will have enough time to have their lunch and make their way to their exam venue in time for a 1:00pm start.

    We propose to start the new lunch time from week commencing 5th May 2014.

  • Ski Trip 2014

    1st May 2014 - Don Valley Academy

    On 22nd February 30 students and 5 members of staff started their journey to Pila in Italy for the first ski trip the school has run in over a decade. Students ranging from Y8 to Y13, many of whom would be experiencing the sport for the first time would spend 6 days on the slopes of the Italian Alps.

    The trip was a huge success with many students making outstanding progress in their skiing and snowboarding ability. The weather was varied to say the least from blazing sunshine to heavy snow and students were

    1st May 2014 - The Vale Academy

    Year 7 football team won the Scunthorpe and District Plate Competition after beating Winterton 9-1.

    1st May 2014 - The Vale Academy

    The Year 9 Football team won the Scunthorpe and District U14 Plate Competition after beating Melior 8-1.
