  • Our First Enrichment Day

    11th November 2014 - Manor Croft Academy

    Friday saw our first Enrichment Day of the year that was very much focused around students knowing how to keep themselves safe and understanding the consequences of their actions.

    It was a vibrant day and we were delighted by the many external speakers and facilitators who delivered workshops to the students.   • Poetry and Pizza

    7th November 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    It was great to share our new talents for learning poetry through 'Talk for Writing' on our poetry and pizza afternoon. I was impressed by 'The Charge of the Light Brigade' in Year 5 and '1066' in Year 4 but I also liked the drama of the year 2 'Rats'. The poems written and recited together by the children of FS, Year 1 and Year 3 were amazing. The poems the Year 6 children had written contained some impressive vocabulary. The money raised from the sale of pizzas will be used for prizes for Christmas party

    Firstly, can we thank you for your cooperation and support this week with the reinforcement of our uniform expectations. The school has been a smarter, calmer and more studious environment this week.

  • Girls Crowned Hull Schools' Table Tennis Cham

    7th November 2014 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    Our 4 Year 5 girls triumphed in the Hull Schools Year 6 Table Tennis Championship.  They defeated all comers and now progress into the Humber Games Finals.  Where they will face teams from the East Riding, Grimsby and Scunthorpe. Well done, we are very proud.

  • First World War Battlefields Visit

    7th November 2014 - De Warenne Academy

    Thirty-eight students and four staff from De Warenne visited the battlefields of the First World War near Ypres in Begium and the Somme in northern France. This special Remembrance Weekend which also marked the centenary of the year war broke out, saw the group visit significant sites such as Vimy Ridge, Thiepval Memorial and the memorial to the Sheffield and Barnsley Pals. Students also had the opportunity to experience what the trenches were like by visiting recreations of the original British trenches at

  • Harvest Festival

    6th November 2014 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    This year's Harvest Festival was a great success.  The children shared poems and sang songs, to celebrate the harvest of crops.

    This year each class also entered the 'Great Hatfield Woodhouse Bake Off' with each class producing a baked item.  The competition had professional judges,with catering backgrounds!

    This year's winners was our Year 2 Cheetahs class!  Well done Year 2 and Mrs Crank!

    3rd November 2014 - Craven Primary Academy

    Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys 'R' Us came in this morning to launch our Pupil Reward points scheme. We are one of four schools in Hull to use this new and exciting reward based incentive scheme.

    Each child can earn points for a number of reasons from exceeding expected behaviour, doing their spellings, homework, been regular readers  to doing their school job roles. The points can then be spent in our new school shop run by the pupils. 

    We can't wait to see what they achieve.

  • APPOINTMENT OF PRINCIPAL AT MELIOR ACADEMY

    24th October 2014 - Melior Community Academy

    After a rigorous two day process involving six candidates I am pleased to announce that Miss Z Bidmead has been appointed as the new Principal.

    Miss Bidmead will take up her post fully in January and in the meantime I will be working as Consultant Principal in the transition period between now and the end of December.

    I know that all the staff and governors are fully supportive of Miss Bidmead who will work hard to develop the Academy and improve outcomes for all students.

  • 6th Form Charity Event

    24th October 2014 - Hanson School

    Each year our 6th form students hold a fancy dress day near Halloween to raise money for their chosen charity.  All the proceeds from the day will be going towards buying gifts to put in Christmas Shoeboxes.  These shoeboxes are trimmed up into Christmas parcels and are sent to underprivileged children in Romania and Belarus. Thank you to all staff and students who have supported us.
