Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Y9 Ambitions Visit

    5th February 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Thursday 5 February 2015, students in Y9 visited the University of Nottingham to take part in a campus tour.  They were also given a chance to speak to University students and find out about University life and what the benefits are from studying at the University.

    This visit was to help and encourage students to think about their options choices, in relation to what their future aspirations could be.

    All the students engaged really well and were good ambassadors for the Academy.

  • KS3 Girls Basketball

    4th February 2015 - The Vale Academy

    The KS3 girls backetball team won the Humber Schools Games competition and are now the champions of Humberside. The competition consisted of teams from Hull, East Riding, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.

  • Beech sporting success……..at last!!!

    3rd February 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    January saw the second intra house sports competition with the Year 9s participating in a mixed dodgeball event. The competition was a round robin format with the top two vying for maximum points. After a fiercely contested group the top three teams were only split by 3 points. Oak and Willow played out a tight 3rd/4th placed game with the latter taking bronze (3 points). The final between Holly and Beech was equally competitive and against all odds Beech finally have finally proved themselves in the sporti


    3rd February 2015 - John Whitgift Academy

    Saw JWA who represented North East Lincs (NEL) take the title of County champions, beating Hull, East Riding and North Lincoln.

    Game one was against Hull who were tournament favourites to win. Where we displayed great movement up and down the court, getting back into defence quick to shut out Hull's attack.

  • Class 2 learn to build structures!

    2nd February 2015 - Worlaby Academy

    For part of class 2's Structures topic Mr Bontoft an ambassador from STEM spent a day with class 2 teaching them about structures.

    Their first activity was to make 1 sheet of A5 paper as strong as possible. 

  • Creative Writing Week

    2nd February 2015 - Knottingley St. Botolph's

    Our whole academy became Hogwarts for the week on 2nd February. There were witches and wizards, spells and potions popping up all over the place and some fantastic writing was produced. Keep up the good work!

  • Footpath Closure

    Please be aware that the footpath between The Vale Academy and St Mary's will be closed for 6 weeks from Monday 9 February, due to work on the entrance for the new academy building.   • Medicines

    30th January 2015 - Willow Green Academy

    The office staff can now administer prescribed medicines to children. Medicines MUST be in date, labelled and provided in the original container (except in the case of insulin which may come in a pen or pump) with dosage instructions. Medicines which do not meet these criteria will not be administered. Parents will need to sign a declaration form which is available from the office before any medication can be given.

  • Term 2 - Enrichment Day

    Enrichment Day

    Each term the students experience an Enrichment Day which addresses issues that they may encounter away from the Academy. This term the focus was on empathy. The students rotated around 5 activities during the day. These included; Disability, Music for change, Exploitation, The Myth of Race and Homophobia.
