Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • 15' Christmas tree

    5th December 2014 - Hanson School

    Students took time out at lunch time to admire the new 15' Christmas tree that is being displayed near our catering facilities. Christmas lunch for students is due to take place on the 17th December. The menu for the Christmas lunch is currently being displayed in the Atrium.

    We hope you all enjoyed it and the children enjoyed seeing Santa!

    Most of the raffle prizes have been claimed, the winning numbers are displayed on posters around school and prizes can be claimed from the school office.

  • Election of Parent Governor

    There are currently two vacancies for parent governors on the school’s governing body and I am writing to you to invite nominations for this position. 

    Any parent with a child on register at the school is eligible to become a parent governor. 

    A parent is disqualified from election as a governor of a school if they are an elected member of the LEA or if they work at the school for more than 500 hours in a school year (at the time of election or appointment). 

    The governing body has considerable responsibility

    On Friday 5th of December we held our annual Christmas Fair, we raised over £600 for school funds, everyone had a great time. A big thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the raffles etc.

    Manor Croft Academy is proud to be supporting the Stonewall Charity which helps to prevent homophobic bullying and derogatory language within schools.   • Parent Partnership Challenge

    4th December 2014 - Craven Primary Academy

    Our parent partnership challenge held on Tuesday 2nd December was a huge success.  Children had a fun, engaging enterpise afternoon.

    FS children had to design a crib for baby Jesus to sleep in

    KS1 had to design a sleigh for Santa that would hold a present (it was a very heavy present)

    KS2 had to design a christmas tree that would hold 50g worth of baubles.

    Problem solving, team work and creativity were key to the task.  We had some wonderful designs, all wanted to win, especially all the mums and dads!!

  • Carol Singing and Bag Packing at Asda

    4th December 2014 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Wednesday 3rd December we took 56 children to Asda to sing Christmas carols and bag pack.The choir sang beautifully and we had lots of comments on how good they sounded, we also had comments about how helpful the bag packers were. Thank you to all the parents who came and supported us and to Asda for allowing us to sing/bag pack. All in all we raised over £900 for the school. A massive well done to all involved.

    On Thursday 4th December, Mrs Murray and Mrs Leslie took 14 children to sing for the Lord Mayor in East Park. the East Park Cafe provided lunch for us all, after which we sang several carols to the elderly.

  • Incident

    3rd December 2014 - Hanson School

    ‘Monday afternoon, following advice from the emergency services we carried out an emergency evacuation of the building.  The basis for this evacuation led to the Police asking that we hold students until it was felt safe to release them to go home. Due to the nature of the issues, we were unable, at that time, to allow students back into the building to secure any belongings they had left behind and so assisted students this morning to retrieve all their personal belongings before they went to registration.

    1st December 2014 - Hanson School

    Consulatation on proposed changes to school and college travel

    Bradford Council is considering a number of possible changes to school and college travel.  The Council has a responsibility to review travel assistance and therefor a District wid Consultation is being carried out on the proposed chages as set out in the Consultation documents.

    Consultation begins on 24th November 2014 and ends at noon on 15th February 2015.

    Dropping Off and Collecting Students 

    "In conjunction with West Yorkshire Police we have been advised to inform parents/carers that it is critical that students are dropped off or pick up from the GOALS  turning circle at the beginning and the end of the school day. Exceptions will be made in cases of disability.  We would also ask that you do not use Sutton Avenue at these times as this will be dangerous.

    However, from 8:15 am until 2:40 pm (during the school day) the only entrance will be via Sutton Avenue.

  • Removal of Serious Weaknesses

    1st December 2014 - The South Leeds Academy

    The South Leeds Academy has been removed from the serious weaknesses category, following an Ofsted Inspection in November.  The full report can be viewed in "Academy Profile" - "Ofsted".  A letter has been sent out to parents today and can also be viewed on the "Parent Page" - "Letters".

    We received a lovely postcard this week from the Royal British Legion. All together we raised £29.28. A big thank you to everyone who bought a poppy.

  • Baseball game at The Parks

    30th November 2014 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    Friday 28th November saw the first ever Baseball game between Estcourt and The Parks.It was a very close game with Estcourt just edging a 16-15 win.Both academies showed great sportsmanship both during and after the game. We look forward to the rematch sometime in the new year.

  • Girls Table Tennis Tournament

    On Thursday 27th November the Girls Table Tennis Team took part in the Humber Games at St Mary's College,they finished 3rd in their group and 5th overall, well done girls.

  • Victorian Christmas Market

    On Thursday 27th November the Academy opened its doors to the community of Mansfield and welcomed all to their annual Victorian Christmas Market.  Over 350 people visited the market and were welcomed by a multitude of stalls selling festive treats and delicious seasonal refreshments.  Students from Flying High Academy, Crescent Primary, Farmilo Primary and Queen Elizabeth’s Academy all came together to mark the occasion with a Lantern Display and songs in the cloister area of the Academy.  This gave a warm
