    20th February 2015 - England Lane Academy

    As part of the scholastic book fair we ran a competition for best dressed. Each of our winners won a book token to spend in the book fair. Congratulations to our winners, Cat in the Hat, Harry Potter, Cruella Deville and Fantastic Mr Fox! A huge well done to all our children for taking part in world book day you all looked amazing!

     Mrs McHugh has been appointed the Chair of the PTA at Manor Croft Academy. There will be close ties with the student Leaders to ensure that the PTA can help the students achieve their goals for the remainder of the year. The PTA are an essential group that help the school progress by offering a parents view towards activities conducted by the Academy while helping out on events evenings and fund raising schemes.   • Northern Ballet

    12th February 2015 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Staff and pupils from Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School were delighted when it was selected to be one of the four local schools for Northern Ballet to promote their new show for children, ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’. The ballet worked with the children all day through a series of workshops on Tuesday 10th February. The children had a wonderful time.

  • Young Voices 2015

    10th February 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    In January the De Warenne choir took part in this year's 'Young Voices' at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield where they performed  alongside thousands of young singers and celebrity artists. The singing was led by world renowned conductor David Lawrence, supported by a very talented live band.  Students sang a  variety of pieces of music, ranging from songs from the musicals to classical works. They particularly enjoyed 'When I Grow Up' from Matilda, and the much anticipated Pop Medley. One of the highlight

    10th February 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    For E Safety Day across all key stages, we read Smartie the penguin. A story about a penguin who receives a laptop for Christmas. He has a song wich reminds him to keep safe on the Internet: 'Before you click, click, click, you'd better think, think, think ...and tell someone"

    The Student Leaders take an active role in the development of the Academy. Each Student Leader represents their form and acts as a spokesperson to highlight issues the students feel are important to the Senior Leadership Team and the PTA.     Week 20 at Estcourt and boy have we been busy!

    First and foremost, I’m sure you will join us when we say a huge congratulations to Mrs Benselllam and family who welcomed a new addition to their family – a beautiful baby girl earlier this week!

    Year 6 have had a test week and have shown and modelled amazing behaviour towards their learning.

    The Butterflies have continued to look at space. They have been busy writing their own version of the story ‘The way back home’ by Oliver Jeffers.

    6th February 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Two year 10 girls expressed an interest in wearing something red for British Heart Foundation day today. They have taken the initiative to raise funds by selling red hearts.

    These are the quotes by the girls;

    Nicola  "I am glad I could do this for British Heart Foundation, because this charity means a lot to me and my family".

    Molly "I am happy that I have been able to support Nicola in helping to raise awareness of the British Heart Foundation".

  • Y9 Ambitions Visit

    5th February 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    On Thursday 5 February 2015, students in Y9 visited the University of Nottingham to take part in a campus tour.  They were also given a chance to speak to University students and find out about University life and what the benefits are from studying at the University.

    This visit was to help and encourage students to think about their options choices, in relation to what their future aspirations could be.

    All the students engaged really well and were good ambassadors for the Academy.

     

     

  • Supporting the British Heart Foundation

    Friday 6th February will be a non-uniform day in support of the Britsh Heart Foundation.  All students and staff are required to pay a fine of £1.

    4th February 2015 - The Vale Academy

    The KS3 girls backetball team won the Humber Schools Games competition and are now the champions of Humberside. The competition consisted of teams from Hull, East Riding, North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire.
