I sometimes engage/teach or get to understand a student by drawing them.  They enjoy this experience and are fascinated with the different tones and marks that can be created from charcoal.   How an eraser can add energy and lig

Our school community is deeply shocked and saddened to hear the body of a young girl found in Mansfield was one of our Year 8 students, Amber Peat.

Amber was a student at the school since September. Academically bright, she was in the Academy choir and loved singing and dancing.

Amber was happy at the Academy.

Students who have been particularly affected are being supported by staff and trained counsellors.

This is a close knit, community Academy and everybody is supporting each other.

    Our thoughts are with the

Year 1 had a visit from Severn Trent Water where they learnt all about how to save water!

    The children learnt that:

    • You should wash your car using a sponge and bucket instead of a hose pipe.
    • When you have a bath, only fill it up to your belly button – not your chin!
    • Always remember to turn the taps off!
    • Only put toilet roll down the toilet – not baby wipes.
    • Don’t spend more than 4 minutes in the shower.

Take a look at the photographs they took.
