  • Fathers Day Picnic

    21st June 2015 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    On Friday, we hosted a Father's Day Picnic for the whole school.  Dad, uncles, grandads and brothers were invited to join us for a picnic and join in a range of activities including baking, drawing, DT challenges, Ipad work and much more.

    The day ended with dads taking part in a football match!

    A great day was had by all.  Thanks to all the dad for joining us and to all of the staff/PTA for their hard work! 

    We hope to see you all again next year!

    We recently held a "Disney Day" at the Academy.

    Children dressed up as Disney characters and our kitchen staff produced a Disney themed lunch!

     

  • RAF Northolt Centenary

    18th June 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    Jacob Wright a Year 7 student at Melior attended the RAF Northolt Centenary.  He attended the Polish Memorial and also worked with the RAF Regiment in giving talks on the deactivated Bren Gun.  These talks included demonstrations on how to strip, reassemble and use the gun.  The Veterans of 303 Squadron and members of the Polish Embassy were all very enthusiastic with Jacob and discussed their time serving with him.  Everyone commented on how smart, polite and knowledgeable he was.

    18th June 2015 - The Vale Academy

    Students are blowing their own trumpet after winning a major award.

    The Vale Academy in Brigg has formed its own jazz band after being handed the £5,000 grant.

    New amplifiers and a jazz drum kit have been purchased and the money will also provide expert tuition over the next year from a specialist at North Lincs Music Support Service, said curriculum leader for music Jayne Keeler.

    17th June 2015 - The Vale Academy

    Firestar,the fifth MARSBalloon mission will launch into the stratosphere at noon Wednesday the 17th June 2015. On board are 80 Mars science experiments from 42 primary and secondary schools from around the UK. The balloon is expected to reach 30km altitude over a two hour flight where the experiments will be exposed to temperatures as low as -50°C, pressures 1/100th that of sea level and increased levels of radiation all of which are very similar to the surface of Mars.   • Treasure Hunt for Years 3 & 4

    17th June 2015 - Craven Primary Academy

    As part of the Young Readers programme on Wednesday 17th June Years 3 & 4 took part in a Treasure Hunt around the academy grounds. Each group had to solve a number of clues and then complete a task at each destination before being able to choose a free book to keep.

    Luckily the weather held off and all groups got round before the rain.

    15th June 2015 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    Year 6 have returned from their trip to London, which celebrated British values.  Whilst we were there, we were lucky enough to experience the following:
