Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • School Closure Procedure

    30th January 2015 - Willow Green Academy

    When the school needs to close for unplanned reason e.g. adverse weather, we will endeavour to inform parents usually by 8:00am that day. The decision to close the school will only be taken as a last resort when no other suitable options are available. 

    We will notify parents by the text message system and add an announcement to the school website. Please ensure that you keep the office informed of new mobile phone numbers so we are able to contact you in such events.

  • Term 2 - Enrichment Day

    30th January 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    Enrichment Day

    Each term the students experience an Enrichment Day which addresses issues that they may encounter away from the Academy. This term the focus was on empathy. The students rotated around 5 activities during the day. These included; Disability, Music for change, Exploitation, The Myth of Race and Homophobia.


    The disability zone was an action packed area with students taking on roles that encapsulated the spirit of the Envictus Games. Students participated in seated volleyball and blin

  • Foundation Fund Friday

    All the children and staff had a fun day during our 'Wear a Hat to School Day' and raised an amazing £250.40 for the SPTA Foundation Fund. Well done everyone!

    A group of students attended The Vale Academy to particpate in the Faraday Challenge.  This is what The Vale Academy had to say about the day:

    The Sixth Form team will be on hand to provide information about the courses that will be available at Hanson next year. 

    Prospective students and parents’/carers’ will also have the opportunity to talk with departmental staff to discuss subject options for September 2015.

  • Let it Snow!!

    28th January 2015 - Rowena Academy

    The children had a wonderful time when the snow arrived in Conisbrough. We even brought the snow indoors for the children to investigate!!

  • Celebration Assembly

    27th January 2015 - Don Valley Academy

    On Friday 23rd January, we celebrated the achievements of over 100 students who have performed above their targets as an average across all subjects during the first term. This was also supported by their effort grades given by staff which were amongst the highest across the whole school.

    Students received a certificate for their huge efforts as well as a £5 gift voucher. Another celebration event will take place later in the year and we look forward to welcoming even more students.

    First Lessons begin at new Leeds based Academy


    A brand new academy in Leeds  officially opened its doors to its students on Monday.

    The Elland Academy; a new Alternative Provision Free School catering for schools and academies across Leeds and Wakefield held its very first lessons for a few of its students in the new academy last week. The specialist staff team, cater for learners aged between 4-18 years old and ensure that their provision is tailored to individual needs.
