  • Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM)

    26th September 2015 - Rowena Academy

    We are delighted to announce that Rowena Academy has been awarded the Gold Primary Science Quality Mark.

    Our reviewer Jane Turner wrote in her report: "I congratulate you on achieving a Gold Award. As an outstanding Academy and from your submission I have no doubt that you are fulfilling the ‘beyond the school gate’ part of PSQM Gold and also your role as an academy to support others. Obviously to do this you must have excellent practices in place yourself.

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning: 25 September 2015

    25th September 2015 - The Vale Academy

    Our Student Leadership Team hosted a coffee morning to support Macmillan Cancer Care which raised £314. A huge thank you to all students, staff and parents who generously baked and donated cakes. Thank you to parents, carers and friends of The Vale for supporting the event; lots of cake was eaten but all for an excellent cause. Well done to all who were involved.

    On Friday 25th September we held a coffee afternoon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Reasearch,thank you to everyone we came or donated we raised over £50.

  • Yorkshire Three Peaks

    25th September 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    In mid-September De Warenne students packed up the mini bus and headed to the Yorkshire Dales. Their aim was to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks over the course of the weekend in order to raise money for their Iceland Expedition  in July 2016.

    The weekend started well, with some students up at 6.00am ready for the challenge ahead. We set off to climb Ingleboroough, a 723m mountain that is the second highest of the three peaks. The team got up it easily, with only a few rests; a lead pack was established, w

  • Macmillan Coffee Morning

    24th September 2015 - England Lane Academy

    A huge well done to Jeremy's Club for hosting their second Macmillan Coffee Morning. They invited parents/carers to attend and all children and staff to dress in anything but uniform! They raised an amazing £324.15 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Thank you to everyone who contributed buns and cakes for the bake off competition. Our well-deserved winner was ๐Ÿ† Jack ๐Ÿ† from year 2 will his bright and colourful cake. Well done Jack!

  • Myths & Legends Workshop

    On Thursday 24th September Tigers, Meerkats, Leopards & Penguins(year 3) took part in a Myths and Legends workshop as part of their topic. They looked at games from that time, how to make jeweller, Spartans & Athenians.

  • London Trip 2016

    18th September 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    If your child is in Year 7 or 8, they will have received a letter and booking form for the London 2016 trip. This is always a hugely popular experience for our students. This year sees us visiting the London Dungeons, The Sea Life Aquarium and the brand new 'Shrek's Experience' to name a few.

  • NAPA bring Performing Arts to the academy

    17th September 2015 - Craven Primary Academy

    This morning saw the start of a fantastic new Performing Arts programme, NAPA will be coming into the academy once a week to teach musical theatre, dance and drama to Years 4,5 & 6.

    The theme for the Autumn term will be America to tie in with their topic work, the children will be learning a variety of American dances and after seeing what the children achieved in their first lesson we are very much looking forward to the christmas performance.

  • Young Voices

    16th September 2015 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    We are very excited to announce that on Monday 18th January 2016 our school is taking part in Young Voices, which is the largest schools concert in the world.

    We need children to join our after school club every Thursday from 3.10pm - 4.10pm starting from 17th September. We will have fun learning words and actions for 15 songs that we will perform with lots of other schools at Sheffield Motor Point Arena.

  • Nidd Gorge field trip

    15th September 2015 - The Grove Academy

    On Tuesday 15th September the KS3 students had a field trip to the Nidd Gorge. The students, accompanied by staff, were able to walk from the centre to explore the Gorge, learning about it's history as well as the nature to be found there.

    Despite starting off wet the weather improved and the sun shone towards the end. Although it was a significant distance of walking, students were fortunate that conditions were not too muddy .

  • New Build Takes Shape!

    11th September 2015 - The Vale Academy

    A steel signing ceremony marked the next phase of a Brigg academy’s rebuild.

    The Vale Academy hosted the event on its playing field where its new building is starting to take shape.

    The groundworks have been completed by contractors Galliford Try and the steel that will form the frame of the new school is being slotted together like a giant Meccano set.
