Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

    20th April 2015 - Craven Primary Academy

    On Friday 17th april, 30 of our Y5 and Y6 children went to Robinwood residential in Todmorden.  A wonderful time was had by all, the children were a credit to the academy.  Please look at the Robinwood page to see some amazing photos.

  • The Chicks have arrived!!

    17th April 2015 - Rowena Academy

    Our eggs have all hatched and we now have 9 lovely chicks - 6 females and 3 males. They are adorable and the children (and parents!) have thoroughly enjoyed watching them emerge from their shells and turn into fluffy, chirpy chicks. The chilcks will be with us for one more week and then they will return to the farm.

  • Year 2 Residential Trip

    16th April 2015 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    Last term, children from year 2 got the chance to go on a 1 night residential trip to Beaumanor Hall.

    When they arrived they were met by a vicious pirate and they were all given pirate names, the vicious pirate explained what they would be doing over the next few days.

    The first task was an exciting treasure hunt which Mr Sproule's team won of course.

    The little pirates loved finishing the treasure in a memory game and firing cannon balls at all the teachers, they had to avoid the sharks though.

  • Sports Hall Athletics Results 2015

    16th April 2015 - The Vale Academy

    The Vale Academy's Sportshall Athletics team had some fantastic results at The Humber Games Finals on Thursday 16 April 2015.

     

    Year 7 boys finished in 4th place.

    Year 7 girls finished in 2nd place.

    Year 8 boys finished in 1st place.

    Year 8 boys team are now Country Champions!

  • Rock challenge

    A huge congratulations to all of the children who took part in Rock Challenge on Tuesday 14th April at the Hull Ice Arena, 7 awards for our first ever time including the inclusion award which we are incredibly proud of.  Thank you for the wonderful support from all the parents.  What an amazing experience!

  • SATS Booster Sessions

    16th April 2015 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    Our Year 6 teachers Mrs Robinson and Mrs Tamdi are offering some after school sessions for Year 6 children from 3.10pm - 4.15pm on the following dates:

    • Tuesday 21st April
    • Thursday 23rd April
    • Tuesday 28th April
    • Thursday 30th April
    • Tuesday 5th May

    This is an opportunity for the children to complete their homework and do some extra preperation for the upcoming SATS, which will take place week commencing 11th May 2015. These sessions are entirely voluntary.

  • Beech Sporting Success

    16th April 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    The latest intra house sport challenge saw Year 8 take part in a trampoline competition. Competitors had to complete two routines judged by Miss Wain-Hobson, Miss Smith and Mr Gough. The points for individual routines were then added together to generate a team score for each house.

    Congratulations go to the trampolinists from Beech house who won the title for their house in this competition.

    Please note that Extended Homework Projects for Maths for Year 7 - 10 have been added under the Curriculum section of this website.  All projects are due in before the end of term and students should contact their Maths Teacher if they have any queries.

  • READING ROCKSTARS

    13th April 2015 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    Key Stage One children have been invited to take part in our Easter Reading Competition 'Reading Rock Stars'. All they need to do is have a photograph taken, reading their book, in the most exciting or unusual place they can find.

     

    The competition willbe judged by the memebers of the School Council and the most 'Rock Star' entry will be awarded 20 bonus points to spend in the new Wainwright Shop.

    Today the incubator arrived with 9 eggs. Over the next 3 days we are expecting some new arrivals. The incubator is in the main entrance to the Academy so please feel free to pop in and have a look.

  • Amazing Joseph

    8th April 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    De Warenne Academy drama club had been rehearsing their version of Andrew Llody Webber's classic Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat since before Christmas. A very talented cast from all year groups came together to perform for an audience of family, friends and staff. The wonderful singing and dancing was applauded and the the group's comic interpretation had the audience laughing out loud. All involved really enjoyed the experience and are already looking forward to the next production.

  • QEA Race for LIfe and The Big Lunch!

    7th April 2015 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    Queen Elizabeth Academy will be holding their very own Race for Life event and will be combining this by hosting 'The Big Lunch' on Sunday 7th June 2015 on the QEA school grounds from 11am - 3pm.

     

    They will be holding their own Race for Life event for Cancer Research UK and they would love your son/daughter to join in on the fun!

     

    Feel free to bring along a picnic for after the race, they will have lots of fun filled activities and entertainment planned to fill the afternoon.

  • Year 5 Netball Tournament

    2nd April 2015 - East Garforth Primary Academy

    The team played in a Tournament on Monday at the Academy. They played extremely well and were great ambassadors for our school. Unfortunately they did not win but put in 100% effort.  Thank you to all the parents for your support.

  • New Menu's!

    1st April 2015 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    We have a new School Menu for April - October 2015. School meals are a great alternative to packed lunches, which can be costly & only 1% of which meet the nutritional standards that apply to our school meals.

     

    It is well known that hunger affects concentration & that well-nourished children do better at school. In pilot studies where children have been given free school meals, they were academically months ahead of their classmates & were more likely to eat vegetables at lunchtime instead of less healthy fo

  • Y7 British Red Cross “Positive Images"

    31st March 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Over last half term all year 7 students completed a project on migration this was led by the British Red Cross, Ajanthaa Kaneshanadan facilitated the sessions along with support from our Community Manager, Mrs Riley.  Over the four weeks students were introduced to the project called “Positive Images” which had been developed to increase young people’s knowledge and understanding of the topics which surround, migration, refugees and asylum seekers.

  • Wash day Project

    30th March 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Despite the chilly weather, students at Queen Elizabeth’s Academy rolled up their sleeves and cleaned teachers’ cars as part of the Washday Campaign.

    Post 16 students at the Academy, on Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, were in action with buckets and sponges from 8.45am to 9.15am on Monday 30th March.

    At the same time, some of the younger Academy students were out with bin bags searching for litter around the school site.
