  • 2FACED Dance Company

    22nd October 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    Last week, some of our year 8 boys took part in a Dance Residency with 2FACED Dance Company. The company is an all male dance company who focus on traditional contemporary style and fuse it with breaking. The professionals (James and Jake) were overwhelmed with our boys work ethic.

    The company will return in November for another day, before our students perform the work at the Plowright Theatre.

    22nd October 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is a part of Maun Valley Citizens, a growing alliance of schools, churches and other community groups in Mansfield and Ashfield, working as a part of Citizens UK – the national home of community organising.  Through working together with other citizens in the area, the students of Queen Elizabeth’s Academy have been working to hold the mayor and local businesses to account on the issue of job opportunities for young people.

  • Crucible Visit

    22nd October 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    A group of students visited the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield to watch a performance of Romeo and Juliet, which was an entirely accurate use of Shakespearean language.  They were a real credit to the academy during the visit -were extremely mature and responded to the tragedy sensitively.  The mix of Y10, 11 and Y12 students seemingly thoroughly enjoyed the performance.

  • Leisure and Tourism Trip

    22nd October 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    Year 11 students participated in a very successful Leisure and Tourism trip organised by Miss Jones.  The students went to Thorpe Park Hotel in Garforth as part of their controlled assessment.

  • Harvest Festival

    22nd October 2015 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Thursday 22nd October we went to St John's Church for our annual Harvest Festivsl, hosted by the Rev Westby.  As usual year 6 did a fantastic job with their reading and poems. Thank you to all parents/ Carers who managed to come along. All donations have been given to Rev Westby and the local food bank.

  • Bake for Macmillan Cancer Support

    21st October 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    On the 12th and 13th October, 9 Endeavour ( together with few pupils from other year 9 groups) stayed for period 6 to bake and decorate biscuits with a Halloween style to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

    Their form tutor, Mrs Rimes, is also planning to do another bake before Christmas.

    Congratulations to the students on this achievement.


  • Student Voice - English Department

    One of our Year 10 GCSE English classes expressed their interest in studying 'The Woman In Black' text when they found out it was an option in the exam.

    Mrs Fletcher, English Teacher, listened to their comments and this week took delivery of a class set of these books.

    We take student voice very seriously, and know the advantages it has in engaging learning at all levels. Happy Reading Year 10!

    We are thrilled to announce that we have now got SOLIDWORKS, the industry standard 3D CAD software used by major industry, universities and colleges thus creating a seamless transition for our students to take up the exiting range of stem subjects.

  • SY Police Praise RASA Student

    21st October 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    South Yorkshire Police have praised the quick thinking of Y7 student Mckenzie Bridgett after he helped them find a young boy who had been reported missing.  

    McKenzie spoke to the police and gave them a description of their location and Police Officers from Rossington Police station were deployed and in no time at all had located both the boys safe and well. Both boys and their bikes were returned home safely much to the delight of all involved.

  • Anne Frank Visit

    20th October 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Thirty Y7 pupils had a fantastic time at the Anne Frank Centre in Doncaster.  They engaged in a variety of activities aimed at bringing learning to life and supporting learning outside the classroom.

    In the 'Anne Frank + You' exhibition pupils examined the experiences of Anne Frank through a series of talkes and even entered a life size replica of Anne Frank's bedroom where she wrote her diary.

  • Kwik Cricket Intra House Competition

    Congratulations to Miss Pay and Miss Street's form who were crowned Kwik Cricket Intra House competion winners after beating other forms in Luther King house before going on to beat the finalist forms from Parks, Irwin and Teresa Houses.

  • Make £5 Blossom

    On Tuesday 20th October 2 children went to the Guildhall with Mrs Leslie for the launch of this years Make £5 Blossom. They spent the morning meeting their business partner and looking at their Big 13 skills. Our business partner this year is A.B. ROOMS locksmiths who have loaned us £150 to start our own business. the. Holden have lots of ideas and can't wait to get started.

  • Attendance Reward

    This term, the class with the best attendance will be rewarded with a pizza-making master class at our local Dominoes Pizza! Each child will create their own pizza and take it away for lunch!

    Pupils helped to prepare  and then taste a healthy vegetarian chinese noodle dish and learnt about healthy vegetables and the importance of regular exercise.
