  • 3R get a letter from Santa!

    3R received a letter and some gifts from Santa.   They have named the elves Holly and Max.  The reindeer is called Jingle.  We hope that they behave themselves!

    U16 Netball team represented North Lincolnshire in the Lincolnshire County Netball Finals.

    Runners Up in the U13 Scunthorpe and District mini-hockey tournament. Next stop Hymers!

    Results: Beat Vale B 1-0, Beat Axholme Academy 4-0, Beat SJN 1-0, Drew with St Bedes 0-0 and lost to Winterton 3-0.

  • Mrs Gamble retiring!

    30th November 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Pupils and staff presented Mrs Gamble with flowers, gifts and cards to celebrate her retiring as our Senior Midday Supervisor.  Mrs Gamble has been at Wybers Wood for an incredible 26 years!  Luckily we will still her on occasions as she has agreed to be a Midday Supervisor on a casual basis.

  • De Warenne Academy raises funds for Macmillan

    30th November 2015 - De Warenne Academy

    This year Macmillan  celebrated 25 years of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. At De Warenne Academy we showed our support  by hosting our own coffee morning. Cakes and bakes were made by Year 10 GCSE hospitality students during their catering lessons. Customers could choose from a wide selection including  flapjack, lemon drizzle cake, cupcakes, marble cake, brownies and scones. Sales continued throughout the day until all the goodies had gone.   • Visit from Hilary Benn MP

    27th November 2015 - Park View Primary Academy

    On Friday 27th November a politician named Hilary Benn came to our school to talk to some people and the school council. He had also spoken to a group of parents. The school council had asked some questions  about being in politics Here are some of the questions the school council asked

    Grandparents visited Wybers today to take part in Art Attack.  There was lots of cutting, sticking, painting and glittering!  It was fabulous fun for everyone and thank you very much to everyone who attended.  Look out in December for the amazing christmas decorations that have been created together today.

  • Athletics Triumph!

    26th November 2015 - Park View Primary Academy
    On Thursday 26th November some students of Park View witnessed an amazing event. 
    Children were chosen from the athletics club to go to the trophy finals after coming second in the heats. We went armed with our own banner to the final which was held at The South Leeds Academy!
    Unfortunately,we came 4th place but it was out of 8 different schools we tried our hardest and did our best.

  • Post 16 Event

    25th November 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Wednesday 25th November the Academy hosted it's annual Post 16 Event in the main hall. Around 20 representatives from the Post 16 education sector, such as Sixth Form Colleges, Apprenticeship providers, local and national employers, were present to discuss with students of all ages about their aspirations when they leave school. The event was primarily for students in Years 10 and 11, but was open to younger students in the Academy after school hours.  It was a great success and, speaking to a number of

  • Anti Bullying Week

    24th November 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    During Anti Bullying week, peer mentors lead assemblies to Yr7 and Yr8 about preventing and reporting bullying.

    We had posters displayed around school and poster competitions in form time.

    All form groups had information about how to recognise bullying on the daily bulletin.

    We held a none uniform day on Friday (Wear something blue)

    Stickers were made and given out to students.

  • Year 8 Rugby Success!

    24th November 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    The Year 8 students won their fixture in the Yorkshire Champion Schools 2nd Round, beating Woodkirk 52 points to 8!  They will now play St Wilfred's in the Yorkshire Champion Schools quarter finals.  Well done!

  • Year 12 Presentation Evening

    Our 2015 cohort of students had the opportunity to return to us on Thursday, 19th November for our Year 12 GCSE Certificate Presentation Evening.

    Students were presented with their GCSE certificates together with some special awards. Congratulations to Yasmin Mwambire who won our "Student of the Year" award.

     On Monday 23rd November Year 4 were invited by Asda's community champion Jo Garwood to attend the opening ceremony for the newly renovated store, we were joined by other community groups and felt very honoured to be asked.

  • Year 9 visit to Humberston beach

    23rd November 2015 - John Whitgift Academy

    Year 9 Geographers have been studying fieldwork skills in preparation for their GCSE fieldwork. In order to practice these skills they were invited on a fieldtrip to Humberston beach this month. The purpose of the day was to assess the impact of the coastal flood defences through surveys and measurements. Students were measuring the influence of the groynes on the beach and exploring the strength and direction of long shore drift.  The day was extremely useful in preparation for the rigours of the new GCSE

    23rd November 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Former student Adam Gittings competed in the Bishop Auckland Disability Grand Prix table tennis tournament at the weekend where he came away with 3 golds in 3 events winning the class 11 event, doubles and, for the first time, the top event the Open Band A singles.

    Adam didn't lost a single match all day, in fact he only dropped 2 sets throughout the whole tournament. He also beat 2 GB pathways/development players in the open.
