  • Barcelona Trip 2016

    13th July 2015 - Don Valley Academy

    Deposits are now being accepted for Barcelona 2016. Parents/carers may make deposits only via. ParentPay once children have returned permission slips. If pupils have lost their letters, they need to pick up a new one from Miss Parkinson in L13. Initial deposits of £100 need to be in by Friday 11th September 2015. The total cost of the trip will be £513. If there is not enough interest in the trip, the trip will be cancelled and parents/carers will be refunded their deposit.

  • Achievement Assemblies

    13th July 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    Message to parents to inform them that the Achievement Assemblies shecduled for this week are no longer going ahead.  Due to all the recent staffing changes within Academy in respect of Phase Leaders and Progress Leaders it has been agreed it would be more appropriate to carry the assemblies forward to the next academic year.

  • Closure for the Summer Holidays

    13th July 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    The Academy will close to students on Friday 17th July 2015 at 1:15pm for the summer holidays. Students return on Thursday 3rd September 2015 with Year 7 returning at 8:30am and Years 8-11 returning at 11:00am on that morning.

  • FS2 enjoy balance bike fun in the sun!

    Look what fun FS2 were having in their PE lesson when Nichola from Baby Bunnies came into school to develop and improve their balance on balance bikes and balancing equipment.  FS2 had a fantastic afternoon!

  • The Elland Academy - Sports Day!

    On Friday 10th July 2015 students and staff at The Elland Academy participated in their first Sports Day. The weather was wonderful at Middleton Sports Centre and staff and students participated in a variety of activities such as cricket, relay races, 3 legged races and even a welly toss!

  • Quad Kids - Humberside Champions 2015

    10th July 2015 - The Vale Academy

    The Vale Academy built on their previous success and were confident going in to the Humber School Games Finals. All students performed extremely well, with countless personal bests throughout the day. The Vale Academy were crowned Humberside champions with a point score that totally eclipsed their closest rivals.

    The quadkids team is made up of four boys and four girls. Each competitor has to complete a 100m sprint, long jump, vortex throw and an 800m. Students score points depending how quick/far they run,

  • Airkix VI reward trip

    10th July 2015 - Hanson School

    On Tuesday 30th June 2015 the VI reward trip took 6 of our VI students and 3 VI staff to Airkix in Manchester  to participate in indoor sky diving where they flew in the wind tunnel.
    The 2 flights were the equivalent to 24,000 feet freefall! On the second go the instructor took us to the top of the tunnel for a rollercoaster experience! A massive adrenaline rush!

  • Carillion Technology Challenge

    10th July 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Students have been busy designing ideas for a monument that could be placed on a roundabout as part of the FARRS scheme.

    Carillion staff came in to the academy yesterday to judge the final designs and were highly impressed with all the ideas that were presented.

    The design by Lauren Hodgson, Emily Blunt, Jodie Cunliffe and Morgan Cook won the Highly Commended Award with the overall winners being Ellie Mai Battenbough, Darcey Lomas and Taylor Meredith.

  • Sports Day

    10th July 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    After weather postponed our sports day on Wednesday, we finally got to compete on Friday. The children had a fantastic morning joining in with various activities set up by the staff and students from Active Fusion. The whole school was given a trophy for a great morning of sport!

    The children and parents in Foundation 2 enjoyed a fantastic Pirate Picnic in the Sunshine.

  • Year 6 Yorkshire Wildlife Park

    10th July 2015 - Hatfield Woodhouse Primary School

    On Friday the 10th July, Year 6 visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park for their end of year trip.

    The weather was glorious and we had a fantastic time.

    This trip was paid for by money that they children raised through their enterprise activity - well done year 6!

  • Leading The Elland Academy to success

    A headteacher’s success at a new alternative provision free school in Leeds has received national recognition. The Elland Academy was established a year ago to re-engage challenging and vulnerable students in the city and surrounding area.   • Y11 Prom

    9th July 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Y11 students attended their prom at the John Fretwell Centre on Thursday 9 July 2015. They all celebrated together by dancing and singing on the dance floor. Students had an amazing evening and all looked fantastic. Thank you to staff for organising this special event, with special thanks to Kellie Birch for her exceptional organistion.  We look forward to seeing year 11's at their results day on 20 August.
