  • Bonfire Night Science

    9th November 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Y3 students from Pheasant Bank Academy joined us on 5th November to take part in a Bonfire Night themed Science lesson.  They tested different chemicals to see how they changed the colour of the Bunsen flame, just like when fireworks are set off.  The students were extremely enthusiastic and absolutely loved using the Bunsen burners to carry out their investigations 

    They were then shown demonstrations of how sparklers are made and which chemicals are used as well as being amazed by the 'whoosh bottle'.

    A huge thank you to everyone for last half terms donations, our harvest festival and non-uniform day in aid of the air ambulance service were a great success.

  • Melior Library Launch - 6th November 2015

    9th November 2015 - Melior Community Academy


    Melior's new library was launched with huge success on Friday, 6th November with a host of activities and guests. The library has been built to help encourage reading and further improve literacy levels.

    Our new resource has been a community effort, with donations from residents and businesses as well as investment from the school. The central resource - rather than books being dispersed around the academy - has been built in what had been an open space outside the Geography department.

  • EYFS Fairy Garden

    9th November 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    EYFS have had a Fairy garden make over in a small area of the playground.  The children are loving making up fairy stories with the small world play items.

  • Remembrance Parade

    9th November 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    Y7 student Scott Keating took on the very important job of carrying the union flag and leading the remembrance day parade through Rossington.

    Many of our students were involved with the parade through scouts and cadets and we are all very proud of their dedication.

    9th November 2015 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Monday 9th November, year 5/6 football team took part in a Cup game against Mount Pleasant Junior School in Market Weighton.

  • Enrichment Day 1

    9th November 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Friday 6th November Manor Croft Academy ran a full Enrichment Day for all students focusing on aspects of British Values and SMSC.  The day was a great success and visiting providers were very complimentary about how well the students worked.

  • Thwaite Mills Museum

    9th November 2015 - England Lane Academy

    We have planned a visit for our Year 1 and Year 2 class to Thwaite Mills Museum. All children are invited to dress up in Victorian attire for the day. Please see the letter below for more information. All children will be provided with a packed for the trip.

    3W loved finding out about fractions in their maths lesson today.  They love a maths challenge!


  • Messy Church

    5th November 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Thank you to Pastor Simpson and all the volunteers from Messy Church for coming and showing our year 2 children and parent, what is available when you join the Messy Church fun!

    Messy Church is a free family workshop on Mondays and Saturdays once a month 3.30-5.30. Families are able to enjoy a craft activity and a family meal, again all free but donations are appreciated.


  • KS2 Hall Refurbishment

    5th November 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Our KS2 hall refurbishment is nearly complete and looks fantastic!  We still have mirrors, pictures and stage lighting to add but the hall is back in use and we are thrilled with it.

    The next project is to refurbish our KS1 Hall, watch this space for updates and pictures.


  • Halloween

    4th November 2015 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    Thank you to all the children and parents who made such an amazing effort for the Halloween Disco, the costumes were fantastic and all the children had a great time.


    We also managed to raise £306.00 for our school in the process, so thank you all again.

    Beat Baysgarth 1-0 and Huntcliff 6-1 but narrowly lost to South Axholme 4-3.

    Beat South Axholme 5-1 and Huntcliff 12-1 and drew with Baysgarth 5-5.


    Year 9 Football Team

    Beat South Axholme 5-1 and lost to Baysgarth 6-3.
