Christmas Caroling at Sunningdales
11th December 2015 - Craven Primary AcademyYear 6 spent an enjoyable morning caroling for the residents at Sunningdales care home. The children received lovely bags of sweets as a thank you.

Y11 Hospitality students host charity lunch
11th December 2015 - De Warenne AcademyThe Year 11 GCSE Hospitality students have very been busy recently. As part of their Controlled Assessment they prepared, cooked and served a three course fundraising luncheon to a group of staff here at the academy.
Staff were greeted with non-alcoholic cocktails and sat down to a menu of mini quiches, tomato soup or stuffed mushrooms for starters. Main courses of honey roast chicken, red lentil curry or potato, ham and cheese bake followed with desserts of cheesecake, gooey chocolate fondants or pavlova

Santa's Visited Crookesbroom
10th December 2015 - Crookesbroom Primary AcademySanta took time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit to the children at Crookesbroom Primary Academy. He even had time to listen to the children's christmas lists and give them a gift.

Christmas Tree Festival
10th December 2015 - Crookesbroom Primary AcademyCrookesbroom were invited to St Lawrences Church for the Christmas Tree Festival. We looked at Christmas Trees that were all decorated with a different theme based on Christmas songs. This was enjoyed by the children and staff.

Year 11 warm their vocal chords with chiller!
10th December 2015 - John Whitgift AcademyOn Tuesday 8th December 2015, 9 Year 11 students went down to the Fortune Theatre, London to see the uber-scary 'Woman in Black' as part of their GCSE Drama coursework.
Despite watching the play from behind their coats, all students had a great time and have taken lots from the play in order to write a great theatre review.
The play was a 'shocker', let's hope the work isn't!

Reward Day 1
10th December 2015 - Manor Croft AcademyThe Academy organised a Roller Disco for students in years 7 - 11 who had achieved the most Reward Stamps in their year group. Students were treated to a disco with a difference in the school sports hall which was transformed into a Roller Boot circuit for the day. Over 280 students took part in the event and all thoroughly enjoyed it. One Y8 student said, "It was sick Sir!" The next Reward Day will be held at the end of Term 2 where Mr Ryder hopes even more students are eligible to take part.

TNS Catering Snack Price Increase
9th December 2015 - Willow Green AcademyFrom Monday 4th January 2016 TNS Catering will be increasing the cost of the KS2 break time snacks from 20p to 25p.

Amazing John Whitgift Academy Rugby Team
9th December 2015 - John Whitgift AcademyOn Tuesday 8th December John Whitgift were hosts to Havelock Rugby team.
JWA put out a very strong squad for the game even without the likes of Adam Neilson playing due to injury. Students from both year 9 and 10 arrived for the game and ensured that they prepared well in anticipation of a difficult match. There was strength not only in numbers but also an extremely well balanced split between the forwards and backs.

St Mark's Christmas Service
7th December 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's AcademyOn Monday 7 December 2015, Queen Elizabeth's Academy Family of Schools held their annual Christmas Community Carol Service. The evening was well attended and there was time within the service for all to share their hopes for 2016.

C6 Parents Evenings
6th December 2015 - The Doncaster Collegiate Sixth FormParents Evenings will be taking place over the first three weeks of the Spring Term.
Students should optain the specific dates from the Head of Sixth Form in their Home Academy.

6th Form Common Room
4th December 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's AcademyFunding was generously received from Eastwood Trust Fund for cafe style tables and chairs for the 6th form students. This has vastly improved the communal area for students to study and socialise during their lunch times.

Christmas Market and Big Sing Event
4th December 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's AcademyOn the evening of the 26 November 2015, the Academy held their annual Christmas Market. This year we were joined by the In Christ In Schools team who supported and led a Big Sing event with our Family of Schools.
The evening was a huge success, with a total of £853.96 being raised. This will go towards opportunities for our young people.

Christmas Market in Mansfield
4th December 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's AcademyOn Wednesday 2 December 2015, 6 students represented the Academy by running a market stall in the town centre.
Post 16 students were joined by year 10 and year 7 students who worked as a team to understand entrepreneurial characteristics of running a small business and developing leadership skills.
The students sold items that they had made through hospitality and catering and after school academy craft.

4th December 2015 - Estcourt Primary AcademyOn the 4th December we held our Christmas Fair, the children worked very hard on their stalls. Thank you to everyone who donated. We raised over £600. Our make £5 blossom stall made £97 thank you to all the children involved.
