  • October - Staff 'Star Of The Month'

    Each month staff have the chance to nominate their colleagues for 'Star Of The Month'

    This is an opportunity for any staff member of the Academy to be celebrated for their work, supportive nature and dedication to the development of the students.  

    We are pleased to announced that our first winner was Mrs Gorbutt (Data, Assessment and Examinations Manager).

    Staff noted how helpful and approachable Mrs Gorbutt is.


  • SIAMS Inspection 2015

    2nd November 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Queen Elizabeth's Academy was inspected under Section 48 of the Education Act with a SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) Inspection led by Jo Fageant on 8th and 9th October 2015. The overall judgement was that the distinctiveness and effectiveness of Queen Elizabeth's Academy as a Church of England academy are satisfactory. The report also contained many good features in all key areas of the inspection.

    Years 5 & 6 took part in Bikeability during week commencing 2nd November.

  • C6 Exams: Winter Mock Exams

    2nd November 2015 - The Doncaster Collegiate Sixth Form

    The Winter Mock Exams will be taking place over the last three weeks of the Autumn Term.

    Students should optain their Mock Timetables from the Head of Sixth Form or Exams Officer in their Home Academy.

  • A thank you for the harvest!

    30th October 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    We collected a staggering 203.7kg of food for the harvest! All this food, with the help from Pastor Simpson, was donated to the local food bank which supports local families and the community.

  • Scary Day

    On our last day of the school term we had a scary themed day in anticipation of halloween. All of our children dressed up as something scary. Our kitchen team put on a themed lunch for all our children to take part in! Please take a look at our scary pictures!

  • Y11 South Yorkshire Cup Update

    23rd October 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    The Y11 boys football team played in the last 32 of the SY Cup this week and won 2-1 against Rawmarsh Community School.

    It was a very even first half with chances at tbothe ends, with Rawmarsh taking the lead mid way through the first half.  Going behind inspired Rossington and they soon replies with a goal of their own through Jack Marquis, set up by a pin point cross from Callum Baker.

    The second half started in a similar way with Rossington piling on the pressure, resulting in Rawmarsh clearing 5 attempts

  • Halloween at RASA

    Chartwells staff got into the Halloween spirit today by serving lunch in fancy dress.  Students were able to buy a special Halloween menu including jellies with frogs!

  • Breakfast Stay & Play

    23rd October 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    On the last day of the term we invited parents to come and enjoy breakfast and activities with their child before starting their busy day.

    We had a fabulous turn out with an extra 20 families coming to find out about the club on top of the normal breakfast club attendees. It was really nice to see families including younger siblings enjoying some food together, enjoying the time to chat or use many of the toys together.

  • Cross Country

    23rd October 2015 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    Friday 23rd October saw the Hull School Games  Cross Country Championships at St Mary's.  16 children from years 3,4,5 & 6 took part. It was great to see the children competing against other Primary Schools/ Academies.

  • 2FACED Dance Company

    22nd October 2015 - Melior Community Academy

    Last week, some of our year 8 boys took part in a Dance Residency with 2FACED Dance Company. The company is an all male dance company who focus on traditional contemporary style and fuse it with breaking. The professionals (James and Jake) were overwhelmed with our boys work ethic.

    The company will return in November for another day, before our students perform the work at the Plowright Theatre.

  • Maun Valley Job Summit

    22nd October 2015 - Queen Elizabeth's Academy

    Queen Elizabeth’s Academy is a part of Maun Valley Citizens, a growing alliance of schools, churches and other community groups in Mansfield and Ashfield, working as a part of Citizens UK – the national home of community organising.  Through working together with other citizens in the area, the students of Queen Elizabeth’s Academy have been working to hold the mayor and local businesses to account on the issue of job opportunities for young people.

  • Crucible Visit

    22nd October 2015 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    A group of students visited the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield to watch a performance of Romeo and Juliet, which was an entirely accurate use of Shakespearean language.  They were a real credit to the academy during the visit -were extremely mature and responded to the tragedy sensitively.  The mix of Y10, 11 and Y12 students seemingly thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
