    9th November 2015 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Monday 9th November, year 5/6 football team took part in a Cup game against Mount Pleasant Junior School in Market Weighton.

  • Enrichment Day 1

    9th November 2015 - Manor Croft Academy

    On Friday 6th November Manor Croft Academy ran a full Enrichment Day for all students focusing on aspects of British Values and SMSC.  The day was a great success and visiting providers were very complimentary about how well the students worked.

  • Thwaite Mills Museum

    9th November 2015 - England Lane Academy

    We have planned a visit for our Year 1 and Year 2 class to Thwaite Mills Museum. All children are invited to dress up in Victorian attire for the day. Please see the letter below for more information. All children will be provided with a packed for the trip.

  • PeaceJam Slam

    5th November 2015 - The South Leeds Academy

    PeaceJam is an international organisation that aims to put young people in the position of becoming peace-builders who address the most pressing issues of our time, as they create and implement projects that address the root cause of problems in their communities. On Monday 26th October, the academy was privileged to host its first PeaceJam Slam where over 50 of our young people gave up their free time to attend a lecture, seminars and workshops where their ideas for improving their community could be share

  • Messy Church

    5th November 2015 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Thank you to Pastor Simpson and all the volunteers from Messy Church for coming and showing our year 2 children and parent, what is available when you join the Messy Church fun!

    Messy Church is a free family workshop on Mondays and Saturdays once a month 3.30-5.30. Families are able to enjoy a craft activity and a family meal, again all free but donations are appreciated.


  • KS2 Hall Refurbishment

    5th November 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Our KS2 hall refurbishment is nearly complete and looks fantastic!  We still have mirrors, pictures and stage lighting to add but the hall is back in use and we are thrilled with it.

    The next project is to refurbish our KS1 Hall, watch this space for updates and pictures.

    4th November 2015 - Simpsons Lane Academy

    Thank you to all the children and parents who made such an amazing effort for the Halloween Disco, the costumes were fantastic and all the children had a great time.


    We also managed to raise £306.00 for our school in the process, so thank you all again.

    Beat Baysgarth 1-0 and Huntcliff 6-1 but narrowly lost to South Axholme 4-3.

    Year 8 Football Team

    Beat South Axholme 5-1 and Huntcliff 12-1 and drew with Baysgarth 5-5.


    Year 9 Football Team

    Beat South Axholme 5-1 and lost to Baysgarth 6-3.


    Year 10 Football Team

    Beat Baysgarth 3-1, drew with Huntlciff 3-3 and lost to South Axholme 4-3


    Year 11 Football Team

    Beat Melior 4-0 and St Bedes 5-0

  • Student's visit Harrogate Theatre

    4th November 2015 - The Grove Academy

    At the end of our first half-term both KS3 and KS4 pupils went on a tour of Harrogate Theatre. They had the chance to explore behind the scenes as well as treading the boards and taking centre-stage! Students asked questions of a writer and director and enjoyed the chance to get dressed up in panto costume. Harrogate theatre also provided script extracts for students to study in class.


  • Alien's have landed in Y1!

    4th November 2015 - Wybers Wood Academy

    Year 1 pupils found a crashed alien spaceship outside which they investigated. They made news reports of the crash scene and tried to crack the alien codes that had been left for them. They were very excited!

  • MFL experience

    4th November 2015 - Craven Primary Academy

    Wow, what a fantastic day KS2 have had.  A complete 'french expereince'.  KS2 have learnt how to speak in French, had a french lunch and looked at the French culture.  It was wonderful to hear children speaking to each other in French at break time!  The children have been challenged with holding a conversation in french at home, watch out mums and dads!

  • Animation Trip - National Media Museum 2015

    3rd November 2015 - The Elland Academy

    Following on from the successful trip last year with our current year 11 students a selection of year 8,9 and 10 students were invited along to Bradford Media Museum to explore the world of animation. Another fantastic day  was had at The National Media Museum. The students took part in an animation workshop and created their own short stop frame animations.   • Parliament Visit

    3rd November 2015 - The South Leeds Academy

    On Thursday 22nd October, we were lucky enough to make our second trip down to London, to visit Parliament and to learn about ‘how laws are made’.

    We went on two walking tours, one before Parliament and one after. On the Queens Walk, we seen some great historical sights London had to offer, including St Pauls Cathedral, Shakespeare Globe Theatre and The Royal National Theatre.
