    Please note school will close for the Easter Holidays at 3.30pm on Friday 18th March. There will be a training day on Monday 4th April for all Staff. School will reopen to pupils on Tuesday 5th April

    To help towards our topic of fairies, pixies and elves we asked our parents to join their children for one of our stay and make sessions to make a home for them!

    We had lots of parents come to help, so a big thank you and of course we got some fabulous homes for our little friends too!

  • World Book Day

    As part of our activities for World Book Day, the well-known author Peter Murray visited school. Following on from this visit the children had the opportunity to purchase signed books at a cost of £6.00.

    Peter vistied each year group where he told one of his favourite stories Scabbajack. The children had a wonderful day!

  • Year 2 Stay & Make 'Tour De Yorkshire'

    Thank you to everyone who joined us for year 2's stay and make for the Tour De Yorkshire.

    The giant puppet called Donco, will be used at the finish line of the cycle race and is being built by a few selected Doncaster schools. We are very fortunate to be included in this select few.

    So this stay and make session our parents were able to put their idea's forward as to what they felt would be the best representation of the Rossington community to feature on Donco.

  • Year 11 Easter Intervention

    9th March 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    There will be a number of intervention sessions taking place during the Easter holidays.  These sessions will provide an opportunity for Year 11 students to revise and or catch up on various areas within specific subjects. A letter will be issued during the last week of term containing the schedule of sessions. If you have any concerns regarding these sessions please contact Mrs Nixon in the first instance.

    Year 9 Students from Garforth Academy made the news for real on 10 March 2016 as they took part in the BBC News School Report.

    The students were fantastic all day and produced some great stories from the potential sugar tax to the proposed ban on tackling in school rugby. Click the link below to see more!

    Did you know we've had a fairy visit reception!

    Doncaster Arts have sent a real life fairy to help the children with their topic of Pixies, Elves and Fairies! She has been helping the children answer their questions about where fairies live, what they eat and what they enjoy doing. Some children even got to try being a fairy too!

  • Y11 Ambition Programme

    On Wednesday 2 March, targeted Year 11 students attended a visit to the University of Nottingham. This was part of the University Post 16 Ambition Programme. The programme is deigned to support students throughout secondary education to make the most of their ambitions and support them to achieve their best.

  • Maths Transition Master Class

    Ash Hill’s transition formula is adding up and multiplying!

    The Ash Hill Academy Maths Faculty has led the way within the local area, providing some innovative specialist Maths teaching to students from six separate primary partner schools.  Monday afternoon Period 5 is now set aside to teach 33 gifted and talented Year 6 mathematicians with the potential to achieve level five or six in their forthcoming SATS examinations!

    Mansfield Rotary Club held their annual Courage Award luncheon on Tuesday 1 March 2016. This took place at Portland College.

    The student that Queen Elizabeth's Academy put forward this year was Shawn Hornby. This was for showing courage in the face of communication barriers which can make his learning demanding at times. The 11 year old has shown an exceptional committment to learning and has made considerable progress and exceeded targets in art, design and technology and English.

    Frogs and Spiders have been sending the Beebots out on a mission into space. Check our blog and twitter for all the pictures. What a fantastic week in year 1! The children made and launched rockets for science week and they had lots of fun!  Butterflies have loved learning all about Tim Peake and space.
