  • Macmillan Coffee Morning

    30th September 2016 - Serlby Park Academy

    The challenge was on! Having had someone very close to me go through Cancer treatment in the last year, I decided to run the Macmillan Coffee morning at Serlby Park Academy this year.

    Having asked both staff and students to bake for the 30th September, I was overwhelmed with the response from everyone. There were super show-stopping cakes, buns, biscuits and cookies from everyone!

  • The Big Sleep Out

    29th September 2016 - John Whitgift Academy
      In July students from year 7 and 8 braved the inclement summer weather to sleep out under the stars for charity. The students got to experience the difficulties faced by thousands of homeless people across the country each and every night.
      Students had to build their own shelters out of cardboard, string and bin bags, strong enough to survive the rain and wind. Students were not allowed their phones or gadgets to help replicate those who have very few possessions. Students were given soup, hot drinks and
  • Year 10 River Eau field trip

    29th September 2016 - John Whitgift Academy

    In July students from year 10 went on their Geography fieldtrip to the River Eau in Lincolnshire.

    The students visited three different sites along the river to measure how the river changes. Students collected data on the width, depth and speed of flow. These measurements are allowing them to write up their controlled assessments which contributes 25% of their overall GCSE Geography grade.

  • Football news!

    29th September 2016 - The Parks Academy

    The Parks Football Team were in action playing other schools and although not the overall winners of the Cameron Cup, The Parks Football team showed real teamwork and determination this week. Winning 3 games, drawing once and only having one loss. Parent and carer support was fantastic and everyone was proud to play in aide of The Breathe for Cameron Asthma Awareness campaign.

  • Interview Training for Year 11

    28th September 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    On the 28th September 2016 Mrs A Lay (the Academies HR Officer) invited Mrs N Ahmed and Mr J Hawkesworth (from Teaching Personnel) to the Academy, to work with a selection of Year 11 students on interview expectations and techniques.  All the students felt that the presentation had been informative and the tips they had learnt would stand them in good stead for their future progression from the Academy.  Good Luck.

    28th September 2016 - England Lane Academy

    Thankyou to everyone for supporting McMillan by wearing PJs to school and providing cakes for our bake sale. We raised over £200. Thanks also to Jeremy's club for organising this.

  • Humber KS2 Small Schools Games

     I was delighted to be able to accompany the children to the Humber Small School Games which was held for schools with children under 100 pupils from across North Lincolnshire, Hull and East Riding. Myself, Mrs Grey and Miss Carnaby were very proud of all of them, the way they conducted themselves during the day.   • Year 11 Mock Exams

    27th September 2016 - The Vale Academy

    Please be aware that all Y11 students will be sitting a mock exam in English, Maths and Science next week (starting 03 October 2016) and should be revising in preparation for these exams.

    Students who do not have a calculator for their Maths exams will be issued a detention.  Calculators are available on ParentPay. Please contact the academy if there are any problems.

    27th September 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    Please see attached an alert from Humberside police that has been emailed to all parents today.

    The alert gives details of a serious incident in the Ashby area today and police are asking all parents and children to be vigilant together with reminding themselves of stranger danger and what to do if they are approached.

    Should you have any further concerns or questions, these should be directed to Humberside Police.

    On Friday Y6 visited London for the day. The main themes of the day were British Values and People who shaped Britian. It was a fantastic day and the children had a wonderful time. As soon as we can, we will create a page detailing exactly what they did and learned.

  • Parent Voice

    26th September 2016 - The Parks Academy

    On Friday 23rd September the academy held its termly Parent Voice. This was the best attended Parent Voice we've ever had, with around 25 parents and carers in attendance. There were passionate and hearthfelt discussions. The minutes from the meeting will go 'live' as soon as all three parent governors have validated them.

  • YEAR 7 PIE NIGHT

    26th September 2016 - Ash Hill Academy

    Ash Hill Academy held its first Year 7 Pie & Peas night on 26th September. This event allowed Year 7 parents to meet key Year 7 staff, in order to discuss any issues that may have arisen during the transition period. The evening was a great success, with over 40 families attending. Our next Pie nights are on the 3rd and 10th of October.
