  • Y6 London Visit

    3rd March 2016 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    Our Y6 children thoroughly enjoyed a visit to London today with the Children's University: they were delighted seeing the view from the London Eye, they especially loved seeing the main sights such as Big Ben and discovering a lot of information about the House of Lords and House of Commons.

    They still managed to squeeze in some reading on the train for World Book Day too - such dedication!

    Characters galore descended on the academy today for World Book Day 9our thanks go to all of the parents for your wonderful support as usual!)

     

    Lions & Ladybirds created observational drawings of penguins and made penguin clay models.

    Butterflies enjoyed making their own map for a magical adventure as well as painting pictures of butterflies.

  • An Eco afternon

    2nd March 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    Eco club put on a fantastically fun afternoon for the whole school to encourage everyone to re-use and recycle everyday objects.  We all had a fabulous time.  (Charlie, Jessica & Jasmine)

    In the musical activity we made shakers out of old plastic cups and trumpets from the middle of kitchen rolls and plastic gloves. (Elise)

  • Park View Becomes a National Support School!

    1st March 2016 - Park View Primary Academy

    Park View Primary  has been selected for a top role supporting schools in challenging circumstances.

    Miss Pickard  has been appointed to the role of National Leader of Education (NLE) working along with our talented  staff in school - now  designated a National Support School - to provide additional leadership capacity in other schools.

  • £5 Blossom

    1st March 2016 - Estcourt Primary Academy

    On Tuesday 1st March our Enterprise Councillors went to the Guildhall for the end of the Make £5 blossom campaign. We met up with our sponsor A.B Rooms Locksmiths and told them all what we had been doing since we last saw them. We also met the Lord Mayor. Mason & Paige are already thinking of ideas for next year’s make £5 blossom campaign. It was lovely to meet up with the children from our sister academy Mersey and build relationships with them.

  • Box Clever visit JWA

    29th February 2016 - John Whitgift Academy

    Box Clever visited John Whitgift Academy on Wednesday 24th February to perform Romeo and Juliet for all of year 10 and a selection of year 9 students. This was to support their study of Shakespeare at GCSE and enabled them to partcipate in workshops to develop their understanding of the text.

  • U14 Basketball Team Record Perfect Season

    29th February 2016 - Manor Croft Academy

    It has been an impressive year for the U14 Manor Croft Basketball team as they secured top spot with 7 wins from 7 games.  The season started with a convincing 12-0 win at home against Westborough in game one.  This win set the tone for the season as they continued to record victory after victory at home and on the road.  The most emphatic win coming in the last game of the league with a 25 - 04 victory over St John Fishers.  The win secured the U14 league championship and booked the team their place in the

  • Harry Potter Event: A night of spells!

    29th February 2016 - Worlaby Academy

    On 29th February pupils from KS2 gathered for a night of spells.

    This event was part of the Words Count strategy where we are encouraging all children to improve their reading and to have a love of reading. It followed on from our succesful Extreme Reading competition and our Book Snooze event. The event was full of fun activities for the children linked to the Harry Potter books, such as: a sorting hat ceremony; an opportunity to make your own potion full of weird and wonderful things; a wand making class;

    29th February 2016 - The South Leeds Academy

    Students at the academy, once again celebrated Fair Trade Fortnight with a stall selling a vast array of Fair Trade goods. The Year 9 team spent several sessions researching and costing items that would give students and staff at the academy a sweet treat and also  allow the producers of the goods to receive a fair price. The group provided each customer with a leaflet describing where fair trade growers could use their profits—this often means a decision about food for themselves and their families, educat

  • Launch of Enrichment

    28th February 2016 - The Elland Academy

    The Elland Academy has successfully launched its Enrichment Activity programme after school. Students have participated in Table Tennis, Darts, Board Games, Photography and Radio Elland clubs during the launch.



    Students have worked cooperatively and independently in the clubs displaying positive attitudes and enjoyed the chance to be responsible for their own curriculum.

  • Year six extended learning club

    28th February 2016 - Pheasant Bank Academy

    Every pupil in year six has been invited to attend our extended learning club, which takes place from 8am to 9am every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This provides pupils with the opportunity to complete their home learning with the help of their fellow pupils and teachers. They are all provided with a breakfast each morning (free of charge).

    Year 9 Options Evening will be taking place on Wednesday 2nd March 2016 between 6.00pm and 8.00pm.

    This evening is an opportunity for you to find out more about the subject choices your son/daughter is able to make for the final two years of his/her time at Melior Community Academy.

    During the evening there will also be a short presentation about the options process held in the Atrium at 6.00pm and 7.15pm.

  • 2FACED Dance Performance

    2FACED DANCE COMPANY worked with a group of our Year 8 Boys over 3 seperate days. This video is the final performance which was held at the Plowright Theatre in Scunthorpe as part of the Dance Company's UK Tour.
