Race for life

Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

    11th March 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    Today we took delivery for the Final New York Pack! If you have a child on this trip, you will be recieving a luggage tag next week. We have sent questions from last nights meeting over to the tour operators and will update the website when we hear back.

  • Y8 Road & Passenger Safety Workshop

    On Friday 11 March 2016, all Year 8 students took part in a performance and workshop on road and passenger safety. Thank you to those students who volunterred to support the workshops, including: Jorden Judson, Jordan Mathers, Tilly Holbrook, Jorja Prudene and Riley Peat.

    To help towards our topic of fairies, pixies and elves we asked our parents to join their children for one of our stay and make sessions to make a home for them!

    We had lots of parents come to help, so a big thank you and of course we got some fabulous homes for our little friends too!

    Our Wybers Football Team won 9-3 against Reynolds.  Well played boys.

  • World Book Day

    11th March 2016 - Wainwright Primary Academy

    As part of our activities for World Book Day, the well-known author Peter Murray visited school. Following on from this visit the children had the opportunity to purchase signed books at a cost of £6.00.

    Peter vistied each year group where he told one of his favourite stories Scabbajack. The children had a wonderful day!

  • South Yorkshire Indoor Sportshall Competition

    Congratulations to all students who attended the South Yorkshire Indoor Sportshall Competition on Wednesday 9th March.
    All teams performed well and had a brilliant experience!
    An extra well done to the Year 8 boys who finished in gold position, beating Rotherham, Sheffield, Barnsley and another Doncaster School.

    On 10th March, Year 2 accompanied by Mrs Clark and Mrs Hatton arrived at the Baths Hall to take part in the Amazing Joseph production.

  • Year 2 Stay & Make 'Tour De Yorkshire'

    Thank you to everyone who joined us for year 2's stay and make for the Tour De Yorkshire.

    The giant puppet called Donco, will be used at the finish line of the cycle race and is being built by a few selected Doncaster schools. We are very fortunate to be included in this select few.

    So this stay and make session our parents were able to put their idea's forward as to what they felt would be the best representation of the Rossington community to feature on Donco.

  • Year 11 Easter Intervention

    9th March 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    There will be a number of intervention sessions taking place during the Easter holidays.  These sessions will provide an opportunity for Year 11 students to revise and or catch up on various areas within specific subjects. A letter will be issued during the last week of term containing the schedule of sessions. If you have any concerns regarding these sessions please contact Mrs Nixon in the first instance.

    Year 9 Students from Garforth Academy made the news for real on 10 March 2016 as they took part in the BBC News School Report.

  • A Fairy in School!

    Did you know we've had a fairy visit reception!

    Doncaster Arts have sent a real life fairy to help the children with their topic of Pixies, Elves and Fairies! She has been helping the children answer their questions about where fairies live, what they eat and what they enjoy doing. Some children even got to try being a fairy too!

  • Y11 Ambition Programme

    On Wednesday 2 March, targeted Year 11 students attended a visit to the University of Nottingham. This was part of the University Post 16 Ambition Programme. The programme is deigned to support students throughout secondary education to make the most of their ambitions and support them to achieve their best.

    In Year 4 we had an amazing time when two Romans came into school to spend the day with us. Our new Roman friends taught us all about Ancient Roman civilisation and how it still impacts on us, in Britain, today! Throughout the day, we took part in lots of fun activities such as dancing and gladiator fighting as well as making some beautiful laurel wreaths and a human aqueduct!
