Well done to all of the children, staff and parents for supporting us with the race for life.  We have raised a fantastic amount of money, the grand total to date is £1067.50!!

  • Easter Workshop

    18th March 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Children who gained 100% attendance for the term were invited with their parents or carers to a special Easter workshop on Friday as an extra treat from Doncaster's Family Learning services.

    The children were very good at making rabbits which were disappearing down their burrows, which we all quickly re-named Bunny Bottoms!

  • 100% Attendance

    18th March 2016 - Grange Lane Infant Academy

    Well done to all 34 children who attended school everyday for the whole of the Spring Term!

    We celebrated in our assembly by awarding these children with attendance certificates, an Easter egg and swimming voucher.

    Some of these children were our youngest, our nursery pupils! Amazing - well done everyone!

    Doncaster Council like to celebrate great attendance also, so we have sent details to Sam and Sammie!

  • Our Sport Relief raises £119!

  • Parent Partnership Challenge

    17th March 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    Our Parent Partnership Challenge this term had a Easter Twist, hosted by Mr Whitehead and Mr Rhodes the children had to use various skills to design, budget for materials and build a structure which could vertically support a hard boiled egg for 15 seconds. Points were awarded for design, amount of materials purchased and if their creation did indeed support the egg.

    We had a great afternoon in the hall with KS2, and KS1 took up the challenge in teh classrooms.

  • Leeds University - Volcano Challenge

    17th March 2016 - The South Leeds Academy

    As part of the University of Leeds Festival of Science, fifteen of our talented Year 8 and 9 students visited the Earth Science Laboratory. The laboratory is a state of the art facility that allows undergraduate and post graduate students to carry out innovative and ground breaking research using the excellent facilities. Our group began the day with a lesson that demonstrated the correlation between the location of volcanoes and the frequency of earthquakes. The groups used both knowledge acquired from the

  • A Taste of History

    17th March 2016 - Weelsby Academy

    Else Johnson from A Taste of History came to visit us to help us learn more about life in Ancient Greece.  As usual, she brought along a very interesting (and delicious) range of recipes for us to sample!  Most of the foods that we tried were similar to foods which might have been eaten by the Ancient Greeks, such as olives, honey and bread.  Lots of us were able to help Else prepare her delectable dishes and after that we enjoyed tasting them!  We tried lots of different foods and gave our opinions!   • Y6 Trip to The Jungle Zoo

    Pupils enjoyed a fun filled visit to The Jungle Zoo in Cleethorpes and learnt lots of interesting facts about the different animals there. 

  • Big Bang Fair

    During Science week, 30 of our year 8 students attended the Big Bang Fair at the NEC in Birmingham.  The event gave our students the opportunity to view some of the latest scientific and engineering innovations by participating in a number of hands on activities, experiments and interactive workshops.  They also got to see a real ‘mad scientist’ make non-Newtonium liquid jump off a speaker!

  • Business & Employability Day

    The academy recently ran the second annual Business & Emplyability Day with the whole school being off timetable for the day with a range of activities planned for pupils to interact with local businesses to find out mor about the local labour market and to develop employability skills.  Students took part in a careers fair, question carousel, workshops and mock interviews.  All Y11 students had the opportunity to have a 1:1 mock interview with a business volunteer.

  • Wear a Hat

    15th March 2016 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Hull Trinity House Academy will support on Thursday 24th March the Wear a Hat campain to raise awareness about Brain Tumours. This is a subject particularly important to us at the Academy and you can read the story of our Exam Officer, Mrs Jayne Reffin, in the Hull Daily Mail

    Fundraising events will take place on the day but you can already purchase some merchandise from the Academy.

    Prizes will be available for the best staff hat and student hats on the day!

  • Y11 Prom 2016 and Y11 Leavers Hoodies

    Leavers Hoodies and Prom Tickets are now available! Please use Parent Pay to buy yours and see Mr Germain to finalise the order for your Hoodie. 

    The Prom will take place on Friday 24th June at Hull University Staff House, starting at 7pm. It will be a celebration in honour of our Year 11 and the last chance to say goodbye before they all take their different routes. We hope to see you all there!

  • Making Connections Maths Challenge

    15th March 2016 - The South Leeds Academy

    For many students maths can be an exciting challenge, especially if there is a real life problem to be solved.  By using her expertise in graphs and models, Leeds University student, Anja, delivered a fantastic workshop on the ability to use graphs as a non-traditional method to solve verbal maths  puzzles.  Starting the lesson with a tricky GCSE problem that had recently gone viral, Anja encouraged the group to plot their verbal answers on a graph and demonstrated how a question that appeared complicated c
