    2nd February 2017 - De Lacy Academy

    Well done to our year 7 students who took part in Wakefield Sports Hall Athletics yesterday at the Kings School.

    Ellis Skelcher came first in speed bounce.

    Emily Nicholas & Stephanie Spence-Hirst came first in the high jump.

    Billy Nadin & Kaden Baker came first in the 2 lap sprint.

    Well done to all involved, a great day had by all!

  • Visit to Brimham Rocks

    2nd February 2017 - De Lacy Academy

    Students visited Brimham Rocks yesterday and experienced the amazing rock formations and fantastic heather moorland. Over the next few weeks they will be visiting more National Trust sites, watch this space for more news and pictures.

  • Dame Kelly Holmes and Houses of Parliment

    2nd February 2017 - John Whitgift Academy

    14 students attended the National Finals of the Dame Kelly Holmes Project in London on Monday 23rd January 2017. After a long trip starting of at 0500 the team arrived in time at the Crowne Plaza City hotel. John Whitgift Academy had a team of 8 students in the final who were outstanding in their presentation to a selected board of judges. Also tweeting about the event were MP Melanie Onn and Dame Kelly Holmes.

  • Year 11 set to meet the Duchess of Cornwall

    1st February 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Yr 11 Redd Boyce is pictured holding his official invitation to the Emmaus headquarters in Hull next Wednesday  for a visit by the homeless charity's patron, the Duchess of Cornwall.  As part of the event, Redd, our vice-captain and a leading Emmaus ambassador in school, will be one of 25 guests to be officially presented to the royal visitor. Trinity is one of only three schools to be represented during the visit.  The Academy has been supporting Emmaus since it was established in the city. It supports for

  • New Bishop of Sheffield Visit to RASA

    1st February 2017 - Rossington All Saints Academy

    The next Bishop of Sheffield was announced by 10 Downing Street yesterday as the Right Reverend Philip John North and we were delighted that he chose to visit RASA in his new role.  Bishop Philip had a brief tour of the academy and then had tea and biscuits with a number of students who were keen to ask him some very thought provoking questions.

    Our Little Grangers have had a great time celebrating the Chinese New Year.  They have been busy cutting and sticking lanterns,  making and tasting Chinese tea and trying Chinese food.

    The nursery children have been celebrating the Chinese New Year in lots of different ways.  For example, they have been using chopsticks to pick up noodles, tasted Chinese food and made Chinese lanterns and dragons.  They also enjoyed learning a Chinese dance with thanks to cre8ive dance academy.

  • Year 5 Tour the Lighthouse at Kcom

    1st February 2017 - Craven Primary Academy
    Year 5 were invited by Kcom to have a guided tour of their 'Lighthouse' at the Salveson Way office. The Lighthouse in effect is a small museum which details how telecommunications and technology have evolved since the late 1800's. We were one of six schools choosen, who will be taking part in this special 'City of Culture' offering.
    It was a very interesting morning and both staff and students learnt a great deal.

    2017 is a very exciting year for Hull and we want our children to be at the heart of what is happening.


    As part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017’s No Limits learning programme, we will be using an amazing website , to celebrate our 'City of Culture' year,  called Digitull.


    Digitull is a great way for your children to get involved and show off all the amazing work they will create this year! Whether it be poems or blogs, stories, videos, paintings or photographs, everything can be shared on Digitull.

  • Pedestrian Safety Presentation

    30th January 2017 - Garforth Academy

    On Friday 27th of January all of our Year 7 students watched a fantastic performance about pedestrian safety delivered by the Performance in Education team. The hour long performance highlighted the risks young people take when out and about with friends near busy roads and encouraged them to think carefully about their own safety when crossing.
    Our students took part in a question and answer session at the end of the performance and there were some fantastic answers from our Year 7 students.

  • Holocaust Memorial Day 2017:

    27th January 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    The 27th of February is Holocaust Memorial Day. On this day, history students in years 10 and 9 took part in a live webcast with a survivor from this horrific period in History. Mala Tribich MBE shared her moving story of loss, hope and resilience with the students and helped us to make a personal connection with an event so terrible that it often defies comprehension.     Melior Community academy students who have made considerable progress for attendance and academic improvement have had afternoon tea with the Principal. This gave an opportunity for students to catch up and have some well deserved relaxation through a hectic exam period.


  • Hull Trinity raising funds for a boat

    27th January 2017 - Hull Trinity House Academy

    Hull Trinity House Academy is hoping to buy a yacht to teach sailing and other naval skills to students, as well as loan out to the community. We are hoping to secure sponsorship or donations – no matter how small – to help make the pupils' dreams come true.

    Mr Forth said: "It would be fantastic, not just for the academy, but for the city as a whole, especially during this City of Culture year and for Hull Trinity House Academy to go back to its roots and re-ignite that connection with the sea."

    February sees the start of our Attendance Focus month 'Fabulous February'. Attendance is critical to a student's progress and wellbeing and at Manor Croft Academy, we want students to be successful in every way possible. Throughout February we will be holding both form and individual competitions for those with the best attendance. We want everyone to gain 100%.
