    9th November 2016 - De Warenne Academy

    A new enrichment schedule has been uploaded to the Enrichment tab at the top of the website and also attached to this news story. It would be great to see more students attending our great range of activities. 


    9th November 2016 - Ash Hill Academy

    Students from Ash Hill and De Warenne have been accepted onto the C4 Pop Up Media Talent Programme.

    The event is run by Channel 4 and MyKindaFuture.

  • Remembrance Day - 11th November 2016

    To mark Rememberance Day, any students who wish to attend school in their cadet uniform on Friday, 11th November are welcome to do so. The academy will hold a 2 minutes silence at 11.11AM on this day to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

  • Non Uniform Day: Friday, 18th November 2016

    8th November 2016 - Melior Community Academy

    To support this year's Children In Need, the Academy will be holding a non uniform day on Friday, 18th November 2016. There will be a voluntary contribution of £1 which will be donated to the charity.

  • Swap Shop shop keepers appointed!

    7th November 2016 - The Parks Academy

    Two members of the Academy Council interviewed and appointed four super Swap Shop shop keepers today! They asked lots of very tricky questions about attendance, honesty and whether they are patient with pupils who cannot decide! The Swap Shop will be open every lunchtime for pupils to spend their credits.

    Thaks too to our parent EAB members who assisted.

    We also appointed four Y6 cleaning station operatives. They are hard working and can get on without any fuss! They will ealso earn 30 credits per week!

  • Y3/4 pantomime

    7th November 2016 - The Parks Academy

    We are delighted to confirm that Y3 and Y4 (All three classes) will be going to the amazing Fruit Space theatre again this year to see Dick Whittington. It's a proper close up, amateur dramatics production and again, we are their exclusive audience! Remember last year? What an experience!

  • Y11 & Y13 Parents Evening - Tues 8th November

    7th November 2016 - Don Valley Academy

    As I am sure you are aware there have been some changes to the way Parents Evenings are organised this academic year.

    This year we will be running 3 Parents Evenings, each will be aimed at specific year groups. however we will also be inviting students from other year groups who we believe would benefit from additional support.

    The first of these will take place on Tuesday 8th November between 4.30pm and 7.00pm. All Year 11 and Year 13 parents are invited, it will also be an opportunity to have a look at our

  • NSPCC Assembly "Speak out. Stay safe!"

    7th November 2016 - Craven Primary Academy

    Last week Craven was visited by the NSPCC who came to tell us all about their  “Speak out Stay safe” programme.

    Their programme will ensure all children aged 5-11 learn this essential safeguarding information in a lively, interactive and memorable way.

    With the help of their mascot Buddy, the programme provides child-friendly, interactive assemblies and workshops to help children.

    As it is Remembrance Day on Friday, assemblies this week will be based on a Remembrance theme and will be delivered by Mrs Wright.

    However, on Wednesday 9th November we will have presentations delivered by the ASD specialist Ms Robson. These assemblies will focus on 'What it means to be ASD '.  

    The ASD assemblies on Wednesday will run at the following times:

    10.25 – 10.40 Year 9 (Normal assembly time)

    As part of the Academy push to improve literacy and encourage reading there is now an expectation that all students carry a reading book with them at all times.  Students are pictured showing senior staff their reading books on the ‘blue line’ as they enter school.

    The academy has run a Rotary Club sponsored Interact Club for over 3 years. The Club’s mission is to make a positive change in their school and community. As many of the original group left the academy last academic year, the mantle has been passed to our newest members who have already been a credit the name of Interact.
